Acoustic/Bass & Electronic Drum - Early Recording 1989. An experience of the guidance from the Lord.
Note:
The year was 1986. A person came to me from the local Bible Church and asked me if I wanted to play bass for a concert they were going to put on. The concert was at their church and it was for a purpose, the purpose being to play Christian Rock to see if the church would except that form of music. My answer to her was No....... There was no way I would subject myself to that type of criticism and abuse, just leave me alone, that is the way I felt...... When she was walking away the Lord spoke to me very strongly and said: "Go with her without question". So by faith and trust I called out to her and told her the Lord just spoke to me and told me to go with you. Well at that we started to practice. The band consisted of a keyboard player who was the pastors wife, a guitar player Bob Schwartz who would later play with Christian Raw Dog, a drummer who was the pastors son who did not play to good, and a few other singers. I must say the first few practices sounded terrible but I knew the Lord brought me there so I had to perceiver. We had only 2 months to get it together and I thought to myself this was really going to be a disaster. We did not even have any decent equipment to speak of. I kept going by faith in the Lord. Then by maybe by the fifth or so practice something happen, a few notes began to blend and be together, I must say it sounded like music to my ears. I was encouraged and each practice got better and better. We started practicing at the church on the stage about 4 or 5 days before the concert and somehow bigger equipment began to show up. Someone brought in a big Acoustic bass Amp which had a nice deep rich tone with my Gipson EBO bass guitar and we were starting to sound pretty good. By the time we played the concert the Lord furnished everything we needed to play well. The miracle of it all was that these people were anointed by the Holy Spirit to play well, what an experience. We did well that night and everyone I knew said we sounded great, even my son who was a very critical person when it came to music. End of story. Listen to what God tells you to do and be amazed.
