My name is Citi Lamar, and I would like to express my sincere gratitude for taking the time to consider my music. I am reaching out to you with the hope of becoming your next artist and sharing my vision of contemporary jazz and R&B with the world.
After spending 20 years in the military, I am finally able to pursue my true passion—music. For the past 27 years, the art of music has remained a central part of my life, albeit in the background. My family has deep musical roots, with several members having performed on prestigious stages in the gospel and crossover genres. My father’s instrumental influence and my mother’s vocal guidance were pivotal in shaping my musical identity. Thanks to them, I developed a unique ability to express emotion through both voice and music.
The song I’ve written, such as Kiss of the Breeze (featured here) is deeply personal and was inspired by my wife. This composition reflects my desire to communicate my feelings without the need for words—something that is often more powerful through music.
I consider myself to be both a composer and an expressive performer. I write, produce, and play my own music, and I pride myself on being versatile in my approach—particularly with guitar, where I experiment with different tunings to create distinct sounds and textures.
While I have crafted and played all the instruments on my tracks thus far, I am eager to collaborate with industry professionals who can help elevate my music and bring it to its fullest potential. I am dedicated to working hard, learning, and pushing my sound to meet the high standards you seek for your label and your audience.
