Inspired with resolve, he pursued a vision he had for a band of his own. Enter the Cloud 9 Orchestra, a “Little Big” Band of professional musicians. A non-profit organization, C9O is setup as a 10-piece band; however, it is flexible and can range in size from a 7-piece combo to a full, 17-piece big band, playing a wide range of musical genres for both secular and religious venues. Scooter desires to give folks a cloud nine experience wherever he and his band perform. As of December 2013, Cloud 9 Orchestra has performed 21 concerts since its inception in 2010, including shows at the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame in Birmingham, AL; Winshape Marriage Retreat in Rome, GA; and Space Coast Stadium in Viera, FL. The band will perform its fourth annual Let Freedom Swing show in 2014—a God and Country-themed, patriotic event which honors our nation’s veterans and their families.
