About Cold Warning

Cold Warning's music is like walking in a cold wind, surrounded by barren fields peppered with wreckage, unrecognizable and of no known origin. In the vein of such artists as The Boards of Canada, Front Line Assembly, Front 242, and Brian Eno, Trevor Brawn brings a fresh and original style of Ambient Electronic, Experimental music to the scene.

In a few words, the music could be described as the beautification of isolation and abstraction.

Combining organic instrumentation with original field recordings, synths, and rhythms, Brawn brings together his influences, experiences and emotions growing up in the eclectic, artistically and culturally diverse Canadian city of Halifax, Nova Scotia, during the 80's where he was heavily influenced by the music of Gary Numan, Simple Minds, Peter Gabriel, and an exhaustive list of others.

Trevor attended the University of Maine at Augusta, majoring in Jazz and contemporary music from 1993 to 1995 further developing his skills in composition, performance, and song structure. He has performed with several local bands and ensembles over the years, performing everything from Jazz and Blues to Industrial music.
