During the year of 2006, Matt Pearson having split from the band Hang the DJ and fuelled with an arsenal of original songs, bumped into an old pal James Harrison who had also recently split from the band Oscar. Matt Pearson and James Harrison had been busking in the streets 6 years previous and had always enjoyed the same style and genre of music, however as life goes, they both ended up going there own ways. It would be 6 years later until they met again. After some discussion in a local country bar they both decided on a new project. The project was to grab the bassist from Hang the DJ Will Haslam and find themselves a drummer and form a new band called the Hunger. After a few weeks of looking for a drummer, they finally came across one, in an old friend singer songwriter Dan Martin.

The four would then practice in an old beat down building working on fast guitar licks, hooky melodies and 60`s style harmonies, After a variety of different gigs of entire original material the band all of a sudden felt that an extra sound was needed in the songs.
