Song Reviews
Bitch or Not Fade Away?
Cortez & The Killers are obviously a group of talented musicians. Great guitar work. Killer vocals and the drums are spot on! Now I know in reality all songs have all ready been written and "Bitch" is one that has been written over and over again. Buddy Holly did this one back in the 1950's. Granted, Cortez wrote new lyrics but this is "Not Fade Away". That doesn't make this a bad tune but I wish they had changed the progression or tempo or something. Cortez also raises another question...Where have we heard the name "The Killers" before? All and all still a good effort by a group of talented musicians. I would love to hear more!

Diddly Who?
Once again a great addition to the traditional blues genera. All aspects poping on all cylinders. Nothing over or understated. Very tasty guitars. The old story about looks that kill is as true today as it was back then. Those kind of women suck your soul out and get you addicted to them. You are right, you love and hate them at the same time. Don't like what they do to you but can't quit them. Some may get lost in the old school approach to the lyrics but I get it. The Bo Diddly beat it a good choice for a theme like this. The beat is like their strut, you just can't help it, it get's you moving. Great job. Love to see you Live..

The best thing about this song is the lead guitar.
The best thing about this song is the lead guitar. It has a really good band sound. The vocals are pretty good. I feel like the lyrics could have been better by making them more catchy. Also not really sure about the title, seems there are more options within the lyrics.

gotta groove
Yeah, those men know how to groove, baby! Drum and bass lay a solid carpet where the guitars and the voice dance freely. It wold be nice to hear some backing vocals, though. The recording and production are very well made, with stereo percussion and all. looking forward to hear more. Nice job, guys, keep up the good work!

Oh Yeah!
Great reworking of the tried and true 'Bo Diddley' style blues. Excellent and clean lead guitar breaks. Great clear and precise lead vocal lines. Nice to be able to hear the words, something a lot of todays singers overlook. Highly recommend this band for the listeners of this genre specific. Great band, great song and great band name. This song is 'the bitch'. :) Go! Cortez and the Killers! Will be keeping my eye on these guys.

Nailed it again
So ya, I loved the first song out there and now this one too! simple, straight forward no bones about it blues rock w kick ass guitar. I know we're Number 1 and Number 2 in the blues category., but I gotta pay respect and tell you I'm loving what you're up to.. Competition ain't what good music's about. Hope it's mutual for Slim Chance& The Gamblers.. Ps: doing a show w another SC band when they come to Jersey on July 14... Opening for Marshall Tucker. I'll be sure and mention you to them ... Tell you the truth, we oughta be doing s blues festival together, old school! Be well, and looking forward to success for us all in this new Rockin blues revival! EG from SC&TG
