A few more songs are there for you to listen to.
However, i wanted to tell you the story of "Run to see the Sun".
If you listen closely, you can hear the guitar playing a different rhythm right in the beginning. Pete is changing the rhythm because he get's always thrown out. The rest of the band finds that hilarious.
The music waas originally written by Pete and he never found a possibility to use that Riff in a Song.
When i met him more than 6 years ago, we were sitting in a park and talking about songs we could do together. This was before we founded Ubiks Cube really.
So we were sitting in a park in vienna and he shows me his riff. And i was like, I love the sound, i love the rhythm... and i started writing the lyrics for it right away, in that park.
In my lyrics, i often use the contradiction between verse and chorus.
So, often times I have a dark view on the world in my verse and i solve it in my chorus in singing something positive or take another stance on the same thing really.
And that's what I did in this song. While the verse seems a bit fatal, I sing about running to see the sun and have something positive for a moment, in the chorus.
Also I'm singing every verse twice, because we realized the song would be quite short and i didn't want to write something new for each verse really.
I just hope you like this song as much as i do...
Give us feedback if this format of writing you, is something you want to see more often.
I'll be happy to tell you some stories from the rehearsal room or how and why we wrote some songs in the way we did.
You can also send us questions and I'll probably make a video out of it and put it online.
See you
Patrick
