After Dark by Culture Shock
After Dark by Culture Shock who hail from Canton Ohio home to the Pro Football Hall of Fame is a full throttle rock song combining 80's big hair US Rock and the path well trodden by UK metal bands like Def Leppard. A strong vocal performance is enhanced by Boston style backing vocals and some tasty guitar work. The song comes in at 4.11 and is well constructed and I imagine a crowd pleaser played live. This was my first listen to Culture Shock and if you enjoy rock to the heavier side this will be your cup of tea as we Brits like to say.

I Like It
Intro's like this is what I like. You start off strong with the hook guitar riffs kickin' ass to keep my attention, and you 'got' it. Nicely done...It took a little to get used to the lyrics, but I finally got into it. Everyone on the track is 'busy', and did a great job on it. If one closes their eyes and imagines...one might hear it at the beginning of a Horror Movie, or at the end when the Credits are rolling. 'Great' job! I wish you all Good Luck in your Music adventure here on N1Music. Gizzmow, Bonham, Texas.

a different Rock
Listening this song, i can remember some Bands of '80 years , that did shake the old rock with the pop music. No metal, no hard, no ballads, but a nice rock with a little of aggressive style of to sing. good.

Nice tune
Great rockin' tune. I will try to do a review in a way that is constructive. I liked everything, nice vocals with a good and catchy melody, the guitars are very good and powerful, the bass and the drums are very rhythmic and pounding. But the production (sound capture and mixing) is very poor, i'm sorry for saying that but I think (and I'm sure) that your music would benefit a lot and sound much better than it already does with a better production, better capture of the instruments sound. For example, the drums and bass are very low and don't stand enought in the music. But overall, i liked the song, it's catchy, very rocky and it sounds really good.

old school
Fun rocking song the lead vocals could be a little clearer on the verses , I can understand the chorus vocals easier, I like the chunky rhythm guitar and the tone on the guitar solos are nice, The vocals are performed well just need to bring them out a little clearer, Over all good work.

...next time! But thumbs up for...
This track is a really good old school metal rock song. I like it very much. The guitar works are amazing but sometimes not loud enough. All instruments are well played, but the drum sound is really sounding like recorded in the kitchen on somewhat like pots or... too much gate on the snare and toms... It sounds to me as a lack of overheads during the drum recording as well as a lack of mastering... choose a recording pro next time! But thumbs up for the awesome songwriting and performance!

Not going out after dark in Canton
Nice opening. The vocals are clear and understandable....and for the most part in tune. Love the backup vocals as well. The guitar playing is commendable. All that said, I would like to have been able to have the tracks separated a bit better using your EQ better as the tracks now make the whole song a bit mushy. I'm sure that works particularly well with your live audiences but in a recording more care should be taken with your track separation. Overall, though I think the song deserves a 4 star rating.

Out of the Gate
Right out of the gate. Our favorite kind of Rock song!! Great tone on the Snare, drums nice & loud, means this band is not the least bit scared to come at you rockin'! Vocals could have been much hotter with some reverb to reflect better off that hot snare, plus with those really nice harmonies I'm wishing I could understand words better, but it doesn't matter cuz it rocks and has a great hook. Keep rockin' guys!

Awesomeness
Very accomplished musicianship all the way.. very cohesive as a band. Love the concept and delivery, reminds me of 80s stadium rock, like final countdown or eye of the tiger. Dont go out after dark theres a DANE..GER IN THE CITY STREETS. Lol????????????????

Cool song!
This song has a lot of potential! I know it is expensive to get the best possible recording. I feel that the recording could have been done with a little less compression to let the natural power of the amps come through. the drums sounded just a bit distorted and over powering everything in the mix to me.You guys seem to have an awesome music chemistry. This song has a lot of great qualities in it from the dueling guitar leads to good vocal arrangements. I used to listen to Dokken and you guys brought back some cool memories. Very good arrangement of the song both lyrically and musically. The background vocals could have stood out a bit more. Overall a good production.

Guitar driven hard rock
"After Dark" offers up some heavy guitar riffs with a 70s feel. Very nice harmony guitar runs throughout the song remind me of Leslie West (from Mountain). The lead singer has nice vocal chops & the background vocals are also spot on. The drums are a bit too loud in the mix especially the snare drum. If you are into 70s guitar driven bands, then you will enjoy "Culture Shock".
