About Daniel Watts

The BluSoul Band is four professional musicians with many years of touring and performance experience. The band is well-known for their extraordinary level of musicianship which is the essence of The Ané sings with such soul, passion, charisma and conviction that she draws you in as if you are the only 
one she’s singing to. She exposes her heart unapologetically in every performance and allows the 
audience to see her vulnerability. 
Ané was heavily influenced musically by her father BR. He introduced her to blues, jazz, R&B and pop at 
a young age. In first grade she took her father’s brand new Johnny Mathis record to school for show and 
tell. This passion to share music has stuck with her throughout her life. Ané began singing at a young 
age, in her grandmother’s kitchen with family and in the church choir. Her soul and legacy is deeply 
rooted in the blues and gospel as her uncle was a member of the KC Douglas Trio and grandparents 
were in a traveling gospel group. You could say she had no choice but to be musically soulful. Singing 
and performing has always been in her, she was born to do this. The fire to sing and preform was 
reignited when her brother, father and mother passed within six months of each other. These life 
changing events forced her to channel her sorrow and pain into music, specifically the blues. From this 
she began to pour herself into writing songs and developing The BluSoul Band… Music saved her life.  
Ané is married to a fellow musician who gets it and understands her passion for music and expression. 
Her children also encourage and believe that she’s only scratched the surface of what she’s capable of 
musically.  
Ané uses her musical talent as therapy for her soul. She’s harnessed these gifts to heal her emotional 
wounds after the passing of close family members. She does the same for the groups of women she 
works with at a local non‐profit, Women’s Empowerment.  A significant part of Ane’s musical life is 
inspired by this work and helping others heal.  Her song writing and how she expresses her words both 
reveals and reflects her healing spirit.
