In music, the concept Dasein exemplifies the variety & existence of diverse sound atmospheres that in turn, create different musical genres... Dasein is a concept forged by Martin Heidegger in his magnum opus Being and Time. It is derived from da-sein, which literally means being-there. In German, Dasein is synonymous with existence, as in I am pleased with my existence (ich bin mit meinem Dasein zufrieden). Dasein, as a being that is constituted by its temporality, illuminates and interprets the meaning of being in time. The concept Dasein is applied to the ambience of his music to exemplify the variety & existence of diverse sound atmospheres that in turn, create different musical genres... Like colors for a painter, his mixture of styles and his combination of rhythms can be unlimited.
