About Dave, Dyno and the Roadkill Orchestra
“A cross between Flatt & Scruggs & Cheech and Chong.”-Kevin Walsh host of “So Called Good Life” KOPN Radio, Columbia, Mo.
These 2 guys from Mid-Missouri have been causing a ruckus since May 2005 when Dave Dearnly and Dyno Don Penny met during a catfish tournament songwriting contest. Their style of looking at life and writing songs about the journey clicked and the fun began This unique mixture of Rock, Folk, Country and Bluegrass has meshed into a cohesive unit of pure entertainment. With the addition of Rob Lampe, Heather Marlene Wilson, Josh Wrong, and Laura Billings the Roadkill Orchestra went from a concept to real.
“I Love these guys”-Hank Waters III –Editor, Columbia Tribune
While playing wherever and whenever they can, from street corners to Music Festivals across America, fans have clamored for seats to see their shows. Though they are not sure what will happen, something always does.
“At this time it would not be politically correct for me to comment about Dave Dyno and the Roadkill Orchestra, but I do have their CD’S”-Sue Denny-Mayor, Lupus Mo.
As songwriters, Dave & Dyno have won or been 1st Alternate winners at the Walnut Valley Festival in 2007-2011. No subject has escaped their observation and way with words. Even the titles draw you into the fold of fun and frivolity. It’s pretty near impossible to not listen to their songs after reading titles such as:
Bomb 'em till they build a Wal-Mart
True Story
Jesus owes me 20 Bucks
I Like Pot
Whiskey’s Girl
Roadkill Chili
“I’d rather listen to these guys songs than anything that is coming out of Nashville”-Mike Granda-Soup Dejour-Musician
