Beautifully clear voice, and a haunting song that builds nicely. I liked the chords and production, and the simplicity of the intro. Not sure I loved the drumming - I'd have preferred more subtle brushwork in the verses, and a half time snare in the chorus. Overall though, really listenable and a heartfelt lyric.

This is a very cool song. I enjoyed the steady pace of the acoustic guitar and the calming vocals of the lead singer. This song is well written with heartfelt lyrics I really liked the story they told...very moving.

Very good song Dave. I like the feeling and words from this song. It's very well put together and has a harmonic sound and charm about it. Great song and I really love it. I think it's a winner for sure.

This song reminds me of some of the American classic rock like America, Hall and Oats etc... but it still has a modern twist. The song is simple and goes back to the basics of singing and songwriting. The lead guitar is just as it should be: lightly peppered in. I would recommend this artist if you like acoustic style rock.

Dave obviously has a talent for what makes a song not just nice to listen to, but also has meaning depth and warmth that pleases the ears and takes you somewhere else. Love is always a popular theme for songs and the subtle guitar is a welcome story teller that compliments the vocals as it carries you through the story of this song. The gentle lead parts that fill between the verse and chorus add more and more layers to help balance the track. Less is more and in this song keeping the track stripped back to allow the vocals to shine is a smart choice, Dave's voice has a country feel and you can hear the emotion in the lyrics that builds towards the end with a few backing double tracked pieces. Overall I think this song is a great tune and if Dave invested in a studio recording with an accomplished producer this would only enhance what is already a great tune. This is a well-crafted story-song that has a sad element lyrically but keeps an upbeat tempo in the refrain, creating a lingering emotional connection to the song. The arrangement is smooth and has just the right amount of space between the instruments. Again, nicely done!

So rare to hear a song like this written from a man's perspective. A wonderful and evocative song lyric about love found and lost and the fond but sad memory of the loss. I found this very easy to listen to from start to finish. I also found myself thinking the first chords of the song call to mind the beginning of the song by the Eagles "Take It Easy." Yes, first rate guitar instrumental. I would like to hear another song written by you about a table set for one by a woman who is waiting unwittingly in vain for her man to turn up because he has forgotten their anniversary. Strange how some men's hearts change over time, and sometimes that is only 1 year. It is so rare to find steadfast and true love that lasts a lifetime.
