Inspiring and enigmatic .. Dave has been playing music for many years both as part of bands and solo. This award winning rock artist has released two solo albums and is currently working on his third Ok, it goes like this. Way back in the dim and distant past, when dinosaurs still roamed the earth and streams of molten lava spewed forth from giant volcanos, when I was just 16 years old, I got totally hooked on guitars. I simply had to learn to play one, so, luckily, I got to borrow a Fender Jazzmaster guitar which belonged (along with about loads of other rare guitars) to my Uncle. I couldn't play it. But that didn't stop me, armed with a sheet of paper with some chords on it, a couple of these songbook things (I think one of them was 'Electric' by the Cult, can't remember the other), I pretty much thrashed it out, day in, day out, chucked out the songbooks (the chords beared absolutely no relation to the music on the albums!) and by that Christmas I was beginning to get the hang of it.
So, I'd impressed myself, so I thought I might try and impress some of the other guys at school. Somehow, despite still only having rudimentary guitar skills, I succeeded! It helped that their were only two other guitarists my age that were any good, one was a bit of a nerd and the other wanted to be some kind of blues player.
