Poems from the Deckchair Boy

Hi Folks, hope this finds you all safe and well. Before I forget, here is a link for all my 14 tracks to listen to or buy - Here is the link for Apple music. Enjoy! https://music.apple.com/us/album/1481738789, Stay safe I will now be working on the publication of my collection of 40 poems in an ebook called "Poems from the Deckchair Boy" - I spent five wonderful summers down on Aberdeen Beach, as a young boy, carrying deckchairs/windbreaks for the summer visitors to earn tips and saved for my first bike, my golden retriever puppy called Rex, twenty premium bonds, holiday money, and my first Raleigh, 10-speed racing bike ( £26 ). A talented artist has now completed the pencil drawing for the A5 ebook cover. Now I need to complete the process and produce copies of my ebook with forty poems. Here is a copy of the last one written - there has been another terrible earthquake in Haiti in the southwest of the island and many have been killed and injured. I want you all to read my poem and to make a small donation to this charity that are feeding very hungry families in Haiti. Please go to their website, watch the videos, and make a donation. God bless you all - David Brinkman. Love A Child My heart was broken, At the sight of young and old, Scouring among the mounds of rubbish, On a garbage dump in Truttier, Haiti, For a piece of moldy bread, Or some rotten meat, To put in their empty stomachs. My heart was broken, At the sight of a family, Existing in a small tent, Made of cloths and rice bags, With a jobless father, Searching for cans to sell, To feed his four unclothed children. My heart is happy, At the news of this family, Now living in a small house, In the Miracle Village, With their father working in construction, Well-fed children in school, Thanks to your donations to loveachild.com.
