About Davidmargam
David Margam is a prodigious Guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, arranger and composer. Born in Granada, Spain. Margam credits his early influences from listening to major Funk artists and being an enthusiast of Contemporary Jazz. Margam is a self-taught musician who started his career performing with Spanish bands of different genres such as Funk, Blues, Gospel and Rock. He began to perfect his sound and developed a love for melodies.
David Margam's sound implements diverse productions along with eclectic rhythms ranging from fusion, contemporary jazz, and R&B intonations. Since he emerged on the smooth jazz scene in 2013, he has released several singles in recent years with the collaboration of different international producers "Three Day Weekend","Sunset Boulevard" with Miami producer and saxophonist Lee Jones, currently presenting the Spanish project MARHID together with the pianist and producer Sergio Hidalgo, gaining a place in the Top Ten lists internationally with the singles "Sensibility", "Hunch"; As leader of his FUNKDACION formation, he has recorded up to six albums to the purest Funk & Grooves sound.
His latest and most recent singles "Hooking Up" with the Danish producer Jimmy Østbygaard, "I´ll Treat you Right" produced by the New Yorker (expired link), "Road to West Coast" with the Madrid producer Nacho Valenciaga or his collaborations with the Miami artists "Jorge Pinelo and Carlos Camilo" have raised their international recognition, managing to gain an important place in the main world radio charts.
He has been described as a musician and musical director of this generation, recognized as an ambassador of Smooth Jazz in Spain by the "Smooth Jazz Universe" platform, ranked #19 in the TOP20 of the main guitarists and most listened to in the genre 2022.

Since arriving on the scene, funk and Smooth Jazz guitarist David Margam has been stirring up interest and turning heads with his sultry jazz guitar style. What makes this musician so unique is his thoughtful arrangements and his creative intertwining of musical ideas. Influenced by traditional jazz musicians like Chuck Loeb, Wes Montgomery, and Joe Pass, he later drew inspiration from more avant-garde musicians like Ralph Towner and John Abercrombie, as well as Pat Metheny, and rockers like Jeff Beck. Well-versed in many musical styles, listening to his early debut singles recorded with different producers from around the world, one can detect various influences from funk, jazz, rock and blues.
