Dead Romero 2009-2011

Between 2009 and 2011 Robert van der Mijle and Wilmar Taal joined forces in a project out of both their comfort zones, which became Dead Romero. The purpose of this collaboration was to create music with instruments they weren't accustomed to, to work with samples and production techniques and to create moods and atmospheres. If you want to categorize us in a genre it would be electronic film score music. Nothing was impossible. Nothing was out of the ordinary. Most of the time our approach was 'what does this feature do?' Sometimes we ended up with total noise, in other situations the result stimulated us to build upon what we found, and this resulted in an album called 'Rite' which we offer for free on our Soundcloud Page: www.soundcloud.com/dead-music-factory. Here you find some more demo's of other projects we were working on, like The Anointed Word, which should have been a doom/Industrial project somewhere in between Black Sabbath, Triptykon and Ministry. Talks about a second Dead Romero project have not been undertaken, although we were keen on experimenting more with different genres on a follow up like drone. I bet it would have been interesting...
