DENA MWANA (born Dec 27th) is an Internationally recognized christian voice dedicated to promoting personal, spiritual and communal belief regarding christian life through Music. She has been credited by many as having today's unique passionate and attractive voice.
The Sixth of eight children, DENA MWANA was born Denise Mwanakitata Muwayi in Democratic Republic of Congo. At the age of 13, She got her start in performing by singing with A Kinshasa's choir "NOTRE DAME DE GRACE", where 5 years later she emerged as the Choir Director.
She is happily married to her manager and they have 2 children.
She came to prominence in 1998 with a patriotic song to be sang by a huge selection of high school choir students in Kinshasa DRC. The presence of Dena's unique voice coupled with stylistic diversity was immediate and caught the eye of all those present in the recording studio; alienating every other voice. Endless opportunities continued to grow from then on.

In 2003, a music professor suggested she start her own musical group. In 2004, Acappela Thematic Musical Group was created and very quickly became the most sought after Musical Group in Kinshasa DRC. By late 2005, the popularity of Acappela Thematic Musical Group had exploded earning endless compliments from faithful fans and prominent public figures.
In 2006, Opportunity came knocking for DENA MWANA from the USA where she later immigrated and settled in the State of Virginia, leaving her group behind and in the hands of her manager/husband.
In 2007,DENA MWANA had already reached the status of Professional Musical Standards. As the market continued to fuel with soaring offers from the four corners of the earth, DENA MWANA found herself flying back and forth between the US and the Democratic Republic of Congo to honor and participate in several musical concerts.
In 2009, she back in Kinshasa DRC and reunited with her friends from "NOTRE DAME DE GRACE" Choir & Acappela Thematic Musical Group to record the album "HOSANNA". The album released in May 2011 with the songs like "Roho Yangu", "Thank You Jesus", "Senjela", available in iTunes, Amazon, Google Play.
In Febuary 2012, she release the single "L'Eternel est Bon" with the supervision of Pastor Athoms MBUMA, available in iTunes, Amazon, Google Play.
And in January 2014 she release another single "SE-YO" a worship song in english and lingala (one of the DRC language).
