Song Reviews
Gotta love the older classics
I enjoyed the music and the tenor of his voice. A smooth and well used voice has its own personality unique to the individual. Great job. Maybe do some recording without the crowd.. ;-) Keep up the great work.

Nice Live Recording
I enjoyed listening.. Good studio recording of this song would be a great next step.. Like the chords you're using for this song. I'm a fan of electric or acoustic/electric guitars.. Keep up the good work!

What's that sound?
It's a bit hard to tell, but I imagine it was a nice song to hear there. Unfortunately, it's not easy to hear in the recording. It's a good song and I think you kind of pulled it off but it's probably not the best song for a review, due to the chatter sound level and actual music and vocal sound levels. Next time you may want to try testing out the recording in your sound check and if possible, see if you can get a direct feed from the PA. That will reduce the crowd sound a lot, too.

"For What It's Worth"
This live performance is a good effort, however there are many factors to consider when attempting a live recording, and more so when the song being performed is a cover tune. A cover will always be compared with the original version. In my opinion, an artist experiences their greatest strength when attempting performances of original material. The performance being an original composition eliminates comparison to a cover, thereby allowing the artists' performance to be evaluated from a fresh perspective. Secondly, the endeavor to create and promote a live recording has its own inherent challenges. I'm speaking of the ability to control each and every aspect of the sound. For example, in this performance, there was a very limited balance between the lead and rhythm guitars. The rhythm guitar is obviously accoustic, with some of the strings having a very high pitch and an extremely sharp after tone. The solo guitar , obviously electric had no real blend with the accoustic rhythm guitar. Many times the vocals we're overtaken by the sounds of the audience, making a distinct vocal presentation very difficult.Based on what I was able to hear from the vocalist, he seemed to have a fairly good voice, but the vocal performance would have been more distinct and pleasing to the ear had the vocals been isolated. One more observation, the two guitars we're not in tune with each other causing the vocalist to sing flat and indistinct in many areas.

Very nice
This song has great production, I could hear every instrument and added detail and the words really spoke to me, I feel that the lyrics to a song are some of the most important things nice

It is great you are out there performing But
Hi i think It's great you are out there performing But to do a live recording with all the noise makes it very difficult for us to hear your voice and guitar playing, Maybe you can rerecord this song so its much clearer. Please don't get me wrong i'm not trying to be mean i'm just being honest. I wish you the best and hope you have happy and healthy holidays.

Where there's a Bear, there's a Reed!
Hey, stop, listen, what's that sound? Well, where there's a Bear, there's a Reed, introducing Mr. Dennis Bear_Reed. Great guitar accompaniment, a lil muddy on the vocal portion of the performance. But given it was for a LIVE performance, my guess is that it's as raw as it wants to be. Keep up the good work, and thanks for helping us take a trip down memory lane. As this is our very first review, win some, lose some, as long as we learn from I suppose. All the best to you and yours. Our only suggest is that you catch em next time, with a clearer vocal performance. If I had to suggest an example of which, I'd guess something like this. SHARING is CARING, said Sharon to Karen.

Live recording of 'For What It's Worth'
I didn't know that this was going to be a live recording at first, so I was thrown off initially by the sound quality. Although the sound quality wasn't great, the guitars did sound good. My suggestion would be to go through the sound board on the next live recording as well as the stage mics. This way you can get a good clear sound and still have the live feel with the stage mics. All in all this was a good cover. Vocals were too quiet, which is unfortunate because it did seem like he had a good voice. I would like to hear a better recording of this song by him. I bet it would sound awesome!

Dennis Reed For What It's Worth
It's best to record straight from the board you are playing through if you are recording live. You will still get the 'live' feeling but you will be able to mix the sound better when you make a master recording of it. That way you can bring up the voice or bring down the guitar or do what ever you want. Use a mic that only pics up in front of you when singing. Like a nice Cardioid microphone that only pics up in front of you and not the whole area so it won't pick up the crowd noise. Nice song though. Slightly out of tune electric guitar. Missed some of the chord patterns during the first chorus.

For what it's worth live phone recording
Nice soun on guitars. Vocals very very soft.... Obviously recording with a phone or handheld of some kind, doesn't do your vocals any justice. But as a live perfoming artist myself, i understand completely. Like the control excerpted vocally.... Live is always best and an exceptional art to perfect..... Will be looking forward to hearing more. Song choice and basic changes are hands-down, professionally done..... Well done my friend. Be Blessed.

for what it's worth
I remember that song from the 60's, but I forgot the title. It seems to be talkng about the protests and and how the police were trying to deal with them. The performance can be more tight if there was some kind of percussion. Maybe a drummer in that setting might be too much, but just something to help.

Love this song
Acoustic guitar a bit overpowering. And the rhythm a bit off but it sounds good. Nice voice and definitely a bar vibe. Like I mentioned acoustic guitar level should be a lot lower especially when there are no drums involved. Get your sound levels spot on and you'll draw big crowds. Rock on

“Cool Ambiance”
Dennis “Mr.Bear” Reed’s live recording/cover of “For What it’s Worth”, made popular by Buffalo Springfield, was a decent rendition of the song. The live recording had a “cool ambiance”, featuring the crowd/audience in the background while the song is played. Its only defactor is that it is almost too overriding (It’s hard to really hear Mr.Bear at times). Regardless, it was a neat touch to add some uniqueness to his recording. I laughed as it was ending, you hear someone say, “For sure dude.” (It was rather comical to hear someone in Arkansas talk like a California surfer). Rock on Dennis Reed!

A Review of ‘For What It's Worth’—‘Dennis Mr.Bear_Reed’
In spite of the sound/noise of the crowd around the band the sound quality of acoustic guitar sounds great, live and real. The strings/acoustic guitar line sounds familiar. It seems whether unconsciously or consciously, Dennis Mr.Bear_Reed has partially copied the melodic motive of the acoustic guitar in one of the songs of Pink Floyd—Wish You Were Here! Anyway, the guitar riff sounds interesting. The sound colour of electric guitar in this song which plays from 02:01 is almost identical to sonic adjustments/parameters of the electric guitar that starts playing at 02:10 in ‘Shine On You Crazy Diamond’ Part I-V—which means it is possibly a mimicking approach;)

Good
A good effort with lovely guitar notes, and mix of vocals. Somehow the recording has let down the production due to background noise. A good recording environment will uplift this song to an excellent status!

THE "BEAR" IS ALWAYS WORTH THE TIME!!
First...NEVER do a "wild sound" recording in a Bar, Restaurant, Etc. You can never get all the people to STOP talking while you do. BUT..at least they placed the mics where they caught the music and vocals at a louder level then the conversations! On to the music. The musicianship is good, the vocals are strong and it's an iconic song. I always find the "Bear's" releases to be quite nice! I have always liked this song. Now to the "bad" part! I did not find this to be anything new!! There was no effort made to "make the song their own". U always tell everyone, if you are gonna cover a very recognisable song, make it fresh and "new". Make it YOUR version of that song. If i want to revisit FOR WHAT ITS WORTH, I will listen to BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD. If you are gonna cover a song in a noisy , crowded place...Do it well enough and "different" enough to at least get "most" of the talkers to SHUT UP AND LISTEN. Otherwise you are just "going thru the motions". You may as well be doing Karaoke ! NEVER do "wild sound" recordings of music in a noisy place where people come to chat! All in all, i still think the "Bear" is worth the time to listen.

Live at the diner show
The song is classic, it's done well. Of course, it's rather home recording, not really "Release" quality so I'm not sure what kind of feedback you want here. As a diner show jam it's fine, I'd enjoy this if I heard it being played while I was out. As far as the musicianship, this isn't a hard song but the vocal phrasing is on and it fits the genre. As a suggestion for the future, if you want to do a LIVE recording that consider running multi-track direct and have a few ambient mikes and mix in and out the ambiance of the room.
