'Tis the season to be jolly, so I wanted to wish all of my N1M Subscribers a very joyous and fulfilling holiday season. I just posted my version of my favorite Christmas song, "Greensleeves", which you can download and enjoy at your leisure.

Dear Friends and Supporters on N1M,
As a songwriter, success is usually measured in either records sold or royalties earned. At this stage of my career, I rely pretty much on listener acceptance for my compensation, and I want to let you all know that I appreciate your “compensating” me to continue down this path. And your efforts are paying dividends!
Because of you, I had a very good week in the ratings for many of my songs in several genres:
I had 3 songs in the Top 10 nationally for Country Rock and Adult Contemporary:

My new song posted on N1M called “Yesterday was History-Tomorrow is a Mystery” is my musical attempt to address the division in our country now between the newer and older generations of Americans. History can never be erased by taking down flags or statues, but we can learn from any past historical mistakes and not repeat them. That is the underlying premise of my song and I hope that you give it a listen or two. And if you like it, share with your friends. In the event that you do not like it, please contact me and let me know why. We are all in this together, believe it or not, and I would love to hear from you!

My friend’s band was playing at a Senior Center in TN and we went to hear them. The band was good, but the people attending were something so special that I was inspired to write a song about what I was witnessing. The song is called The Last Waltz and is now available for listening on N1M.

I just posted a new song called “If I Just Had One More Day” which I hope you will give a listen.
This is one of those “songs from the heart” and in my case, these usually do very well for me. Nothing can substitute feelings with words and this song reflects pretty much a snap shot of my life. And perhaps yours too!

This week on N1M, I had the #6 Song for Classic Rock in the entire United States with “Safely in Your Love”. I also had the top 3 songs for Alternative Rock in KY with “Eye of the Hand’, “You Better Slow Down”, and “I’m So Easy”.
This never would have happened without all of your support and your love for music. Hopefully, I will be able to live up to the high standards you have established and continue to provide songs that you will like.

Dear Subscribers and Friends,
They say absence makes the heart grow fonder. But this can also be said about musicians who drifted apart to follow different paths of life, and then somehow are brought back together to make music one more time. “Make It Through the Night” was written and performed by a former band-mate, Joseph P. Donahue, and can now be heard on Number One Music. Joining Joe and me is another former band mate, Peter Fossi, doing vocal harmonies. I hope you give this a listen because I don’t think you will be disappointed!

“Safely In Your Love” has just been added to N1M and was created with the help from some old friends: lyrics were co-written with my friend Gerry Blight; former band mate Peter Fossi sang lead vocals with my son Patrick contributing as well; another former band mate Bobby Jones added some very tasty bass guitar. Hope you give it a listen and let me know what you think.

About Dennis Roney
My mother bought me my first guitar when I was about 8, and she immediately signed me up for lessons. I hated it. The lessons were boring, the songs in the lessons were lame, and the teacher had bad breath. But with the British invasion of the 60’s, I realized that I really liked that music. I would spend hours playing a song over and over on the phonograph in order to learn all of the chord arrangements and guitar leads. This tedious exercise taught me how to listen and identify notes and chords. I eventually could listen to a new song and know instantly what the chord changes were. I spent many years playing in various bands and quit music entirely when I turned 25 so I could spend my efforts in building a career and taking care of my new family. 35 years later, I was asked by a former band member to play guitar on his song recording. This got me back into music and more specifically recording. My first original and recorded song was such a thrill that I was now hooked on a new method of enjoying music. I hope you take a moment to listen to some of my songs. As one fan told me, “Your music is timeless”. I’m going to take that as a compliment.
