Marcus would Fly to different cities months before the artist would get there set up in stores and go to radio station's the venue's set everything up for the artist's first artist he would work for was a very young little known artist by the name of Mariah Carey. He was instrumental in helping her get known by promoting her arrival to various cities. At the time Marcus was only 14 years old Columbia records helped with tutors on the road when in Atlanta Marcus would attend High school on off time at very young age working for recording label Marcus was making about 1700 dollars a month at 14 years (expired link) working with Columbia on Street Team. Marcus at age of 16 began to express an interest in the recording studio first experience was in a studio where he met a very young Dallas Austin. At the time Dallas was working on a group by the name of ABC. Marcus would sit in on session with a young intern by the name of Kevin Parker and Learn inspired by Marcus's Dedication and willing to learn Alvin Spikes took him under his wing to teach him and Kevin Parker how to engineer. First project we worked on was Michael Jackson and Biggie Smalls - This Time Around. Where on stage he got to introduce a young female group by the name of Jade while backstage he also meet Bobby Brown in Jade's Limo who gave him opportunity to work an intern at his new Studio (expired link) that time Marcus decided to go back to school to further his education at the art institute of Atlanta where he met and was befriended by a young African who went by the stage name of Akon. Who showed him around campus and helped him find campus housing and who was also his classmate and Marcus met his soon to be New roommate who also was about to graduate Speech who also had a group preforming around town by the name of Arrested (expired link). Akon began taking Marcus around the city working on different projects such as the Looney (expired link) took a turn Marcus fell on hard times had to leave school. Times were so hard Marcus was homeless for about 2 years during that time a family a church family was doing outreach and saw something in Marcus enough to take him in and give him a spare room to help him get on his feet also the family purchased Marcus a computer tower. Marcus began to build the computer from scratch part by part by just checking out books from the library and reading on how to fix computers and built the computer and begin to research about how to build an internet radio station. A gospel Internet radio was born (expired link) Dj Minister Marc D. Then began to broadcast on the air and it was so good that Dj Wade O Contacted him and asked if he would like to interview young up & coming Holy Hip Hop Artist named Lecrae. Thus Began an internet revolution the show became so popular Dj Marc D was contacted by Christian Rapper T-Bone asks if he would like to be an official radio broadcaster at the Holy Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta. After the success of holy hip hop awards the show was doing very well and then another opportunity to further education came when upon hearing the show The Ohio Center for Broadcasting Contacted Marcus ask him to come to Colorado to learn more at there Broadcasting School so on a plane Marcus went on yet another adventure. Upon arriving in Colorado no Family no friends knowing no one Marcus begin to work at La Quinta Inn In Aurora and live in Hotel travel by bus 3 hours everyday to Lakewood just to go to School at Ohio center Only the first day of class landed an internship for KYGO working as a Country Radio Dj the only Black man at the time on a Country Radio station Heard on the air by George Mcfly. Who made a visit to the school he talked to Marcus offered him to enter a contest called who wants to be a Dj contest was ran by Noah Borwick Sales at the Time for Clear channel radio. Working at the hotel word got around that I was in this contest all the truck drivers who would come in would vote for Marcus and get on the CB and broadcast to other truck drivers to do the same. Marcus won by a landslide!! Got hired only the 2nd Day in School and began to work for George Mcfly at the time the show was way down in rating's like in the 200's after working on the show and finding ways to make the show work and more appealing to the afternoon listener the show went from last place to #2 in the country! Not having a name George put it out on the air and his fans came up with the name Holiday because they said when Marcus was on the air it sounded like radio on a holiday fun, exciting and unexpected treat to listen to so on 95.7 The party Dj Holiday was born.

Dj holiday had arrived after his success with the Pop station the program director saw many talents with this young black man some he issued a challenge the morning show on the Classic rock side ratings were Falling so he made him assistant producer to Kathy Lee of 103.5 the Foxx. The Lewis and Floorwax Show a morning talk show on a classic Rock station music he had no idea about so Dj holiday went to school learning everything he could about Classic Rock artist and music it paid off with his first aircheck on location interviewing people on the street. Rick Lewis saw a fresh new talent and figured out how to use it in the show some he would go out and just talk to people at first give out prizes on the air on location do live remotes so the spot became popular people listened in and would tune just to see what crazy stunt he would do next. But he needed a different name for a different station format also part of the internet team with clear channel radio responsible for all internet content for all 8 stations he was making by request a sparkling ad to run on Issa’s webpage for her show once the ad was finished it was the talk of the office and sold about a million dollars in advertising for the station so people started calling him sparkx after the ad that was so popular. So on the Lewis and Floorwax Show the Dj Sparkx was born when I was out on location I was known as sparkx the show was 35th in the nation after just a year on the show as sparkx and assistant producer the show was #1 held it for 16 weeks. Proving that Dj Holiday was up and ready for anything any format any type of music. But even with all this success and the only Black man in Denver radio at the time in a major radio market a major milestone times got hard and the station had to lay off 1,865 employees and being new Dj holiday was one of them. So he began putting resumes together airchecks to other station but was rejected with statements such as I can’t believe they let a person who can’t Dj get on the radio. With statements like that from various major radio stations in Denver. Dj Holiday decided to go back the roots and start yet another internet radio revolution with the popularity of 95.7 the party and 103.5 the Foxx Dj holiday combined the names and Dj Holiday Sparkx was Branded bringing fan from two different formats together to listen to their favorite Dj and during all that time over 5 years professionally on a major Market radio station Dj Holiday has interviewed stars such as Actor Tom Cruise, Eddie Murphy, Charlie Murphy, Dave Chapelle,Rob Snyder ,3oh!3, Kesia,Kurtis Blow,Deitrick haddon,Lil Jon,Usher,Ying Yang Twins,Scola of Dru hill, Lauren hill, Tonya Blount, Mike Ivory,Boyz II Men, Denzel Washington,Alec Baldwin, Larry Miller, Coco Brown,Brandon T.
