Growing up in a musically inclined family, his father, an accomplished drummer and his mother a successful talent agent, Guerito was raised on music, learning to appreciate all forms and genres. It was a spontaneous relocation to Washington, (expired link). that he developed an infinite passion for dance and house music, and fueled a distant dream to become a DJ. In February 2013, the dream became a reality, and DJ Guerito was born………
Guerito put together a demo CD produced from an app on his iPhone and submitted it to an established DJ, whom invited him to make his debut at Blush & Blue After hours. Flattered and full of motivation, DJ Guerito made the life changing decision to quit his “day job” and put 100% into building a career as a DJ. Within 3 months Guerito had landed himself 2 weekly residencies and a monthly residency. He also graciously accepted the offer to be the featured DJ for all 3 days of Pride Fest Denver 2013 at Broadways, which evolved into one of the weekly residencies aforementioned. His second residency, he took a risk with an unestablished nightclub just outside the Metro area, Lipstick Discotheque was a short lived experience, due to lack of attendance, the status of the establishment is currently undetermined. His first residency, a monthly appearance at Leela European Cafe, he promises to hold as long as he resides in Denver. Being the first gig he acquired it holds a certain sentimental value. Guest appearances include, The Living Room, The Polished Tavern, Vinyl Nightclub, The Compound, Hudson’s Bar & Grill, The Oriental Theater, Byron White Federal Courthouse for Support Marriage Equality in Colorado, Whittier ECE-8 School, and in June 2014 he was invited to perform at Pride Fest Denver, on the Smirnoff World Dance Stage, his first ever appearance on one of the main stages at this epic event, which hosted over 350,000 people from all over the nation. Guerito has even shared the stage with a few of the industries finest, including DJ Shane Stiel (Haus of Stiel), Chicago’s own Global Sensation DJ Cindel, and International Superstar DJ Xstasys, of Puerto Rico.
Gaining notoriety and building a following is certainly a difficult task, especially in a field so widely popular, but DJ Guerito continues to attract fans through his music. Becoming known for his energetic and passionate performances, and including a broad spectrum of music, crowds’ love his style, mixing the classic dance hits of the nineties while keeping up with the trending top 40 remixes of today. He also donates a portion of his services to the Walk for Whittier Fundraiser, a benefit for Whittier ECE-8 School, each year, and in 2014 saved their holiday celebration that had been canceled due to lack of funding, by donating his time to Whittier, in full. 2014 will also be DJ Gueritos debut performance at the annual Pride Fest staple event, Corky’s Pool Party, to benefit the Corky Cares Foundation which funds numerous local charities. 2014 also marked a new addition to his charity work as he donated a portion of his performance fee to the Epworth Foundation for their annual family celebration. Burning Through Pages, a foundation that promotes reading as an alternative to street-life and criminal conduct for teenagers, Guerito was able to raise $500.00 from from his own personal donors. He also raised a substantial amount for the Children’s Hospital, where he was the headliner for their inaugural event 99 Red Balloons for Kids. DJ Guerito is always open to donate services to any cause that will benefit children of all ages.
His motto, “Live in the Music” is exactly what Guerito does. “Music is my life, it’s been there to carry me through the hard times and helped me shine through the good.
