The Got Kidney? Foundation was started by Mr. Frank Quattlebaum Jr. aka “DJ RasCue” from the San Francisco Bay Area and an emcee in the rap group “Various Blends”. In the Fall of 2007, Frank was diagnosed with Renal Failure(Kidney Disease) and immediately was placed on dialysis. After a few months of transition and adjustment to a whole new lifestyle, Frank felt the need to support, educate and promote Organ Donor Awareness. Frank was inspired by seeing fellow individuals going through dialysis from diabetes and kidney failure in hopes of one day receiving a kidney transplant. Frank decided to use the platform of music to make the connection with organ donor awareness. Frank reached out to his fellow music peers and put together the music compilation “Got Kidney?” and aligned it with events to bring more exposure and notice to the serious condition of Organ Failure and Kidney Disease. Collaborating with Donate for Life, The American Kidney Foundation(AKF), Uppitees Fashions and other organizations and small companies has helped lead to many successful events to support and educate on a healthy living lifestyle, nutrition and organ support.
As one of the founding members of the legendary underground hip-hop group "Various Blends(w/ Solefather Rasco and Friz-B the Freethinker)", RasCue(aka "EBF") has recorded three full-length albums("Levitude" on Baraka/Caroline Records, "VB's 1992-1994" on Chopped Herring Records and the unreleased "Fanna Burn") and recorded numerous guest verses for artists worldwide! He has toured over 30 countries and performed with 2Pac, Cypress Hill, The Killers, Rev.
