About Dog Society
Dog Society is a cutting edge rock collective founded by New York City natives Bruce Erik Brauer (guitar), Richard Guerzon (Bass) and Joe Ranieri (Drums + Percussion), and was later joined by their rapturous Colorado based lead vocalist Brian Schnaak. Dog Society paved their way onto the rock scene almost 20 years ago with Test Your Own Eyes, their Atlantic Records / EastWest debut, which introduced their progressive style and positioned them at the forefront of the contemporary rock movement of the 90’s.
Certainly no strangers to the NYC rock circuit, Dog Society’s rooted history in the music industry has them constantly raising the bar for innovative rock music with brilliant guitar riffs, emotive vocals and passionate lyrics. Each song, whether on stage or in the recording studio, emulates distinct classic rock influences from the likes of The Beatles, Velvet Underground and Pink Floyd intertwined with the more contemporary phonic blends of Sonic Youth and Radiohead.
EastWest/Atlantic records released their debut album “Test Your Own Eyes” which was produced by Rob Schnaapf and Tom Rothrock (Beck, Elliot Smith). Throughout their impressive and verbose musical career, Dog Society has performed with a roster of legendary acts including Sheryl Crow, Stone Temple Pilots, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Extreme, Collision, Enuff Znuff, Blondie and Mister Big. Today, this heralded adult alternative rock quartet continues to grace the stages of NYC’s hottest venues performing in front of their incredibly loyal and devoted fan base; many of which have been with the band since day one.
Dog Society’s sophomore album “Emerge” was also co-produced by Rob Schnaapf and Tom Rothrock. It was independently released on September 25, 2012.
In 2014 Dog Society produced and released it's third release "In The Shade". It was released April 29th, 2014.
Keep your eyes and ears open for the next release.
