About Don Jacobs
An already successful visual artist (painter) and muralist in his own right, Don Jacobs always harbored yet another side to his psyche that was deeply rooted in music. He grew up in the American deep South, in Mississippi, where for some, art, music and literature are a way of life. In his early pre-teen years he developed an affinity for Rock music in particular, which grew into a fascination with songwriting that has never left him. After high school he eventually left Mississippi, and lived in Europe for the better part of a decade, attending art school, while playing and writing music on the side, and soaking up the intricacies of European culture. He eventually returned to his roots in Mississippi to pursue a career in art, but has continually been drawn back to his musical interests.
During his art school days in Europe, he connected with Scottish musician, Tommy McClymont, who had like musical tastes and who shared a similar interest in songwriting. Together they played the pub scene and bounced musical ideas off of each other and eventually found their way into the studio to record a handful of their own songs. "That was a while back", says Jacobs, who later returned to Mississippi to pursue a career in art, but with time the music bug eventually got to him again and he now has two albums of his music to his credit and is currently working again with McClymont overseas via the internet.
