The emerging Jamaican/American singer and artiste Debbie Duran (expired link). Double Ddee has released her new song ‘Birthday Sex’ in collaboration with Shawn Ice on VEVOurban, DoubleddeeVEVO and on AKAM Entertainment YouTube. The song is a peppy number (with 18+ lyrics) and features Dancehall rap lyrics by Shawn Ice. The song belongs to the hip hop/dancehall reggae genre and is meant to set people’s feet tapping.
With the catchy music and interesting lyrics the song is expected to hit the night clubs very soon. Birthday Sex was released in November 2015 and as already captured its first award. Ablazin Radio in DC has an annual musical related award show each year and Birthday Sex was voted by listeners as “Song of the Year” in the DMV (DC, MD and VA area). Double DDee was also voted as female artiste of the year for 2015 and Shawn Ice copped the title for male artiste of the year for 2015 as well.
Birthday Sex was released under Da’vgion Music LLC, an independent record label located in Owing Mills, MD. She has released many other popular singles in 2015 with Da’vgion as well. Songs such as; 2015 “Leach”, “Real hard” and “Telephone Bad Gyal”.
Double Ddee was born and raised in Allman Town, Kingston, Jamaica before migrating to West Virginia, United States in the early 2000s. After a few years she moved to New York to seek further opportunities in music.

After Double Ddee relocated to New York, she started performing at places such as Soul Cafe, and Club Demerara in Manhattan. It was during one of her performances that a record label scout noticed Double Ddee and she signed up a contract with him without really understanding the details. She tried to quit the six year contract but it prohibited her from signing with any other label.
Despite her musical career on hold, Double kept going and enrolled herself in college to enhance other opportunities and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership and an MBA in Human Resources Management.
