This piano version of the well-known Bowie's song presents a fluent, easy going work. It manages to find a dynamic narrative arc: without the presence of words it lifts the essence of the song. This version is a bold, individual story too.

It is very daring to pick up a masterpiece like Life On Mars. Your playing and your arrangement will all too easily be compared to the original. Is it as good as Bowie or not? That is how many of us will think. But Dr. Fred Cole turns it into a beautiful played instrumental – really makes a completely different thing. It is played with a nice jazzy touch. A little bit like a night club after midnight. Easy, slow and somehow melancholy. Well played and very recommended.

First I was terrified that somebody had made a cover of one of the greatest songs ever made! But then I couldn't stop listening. I love the thought of doing a jazz version. What I missed was a little more jazz. Some freedom in the interpretation. One detail is the hard clock on the cymbal instead of changing between soft and hard, making it more dynamic. Overall I like your idea and version, and am impressed over the way you got away with it! Good work, but let loose a little bit more. :)

This is a very creative work, taking you on a journey of interesting harmonic and rhythmic values, probing the extreme Martian landscape. The colors through the textures of sound are clearly portrayed. Reds, browns and yellows. This work is also nicely recorded.

This is very a relaxing piano composition that builds, full of harmonic expression. It is clear that the composer has a broad vocabulary as it relates to the harmonic structures. It is certainly a musical journey that is enjoyable.

I do like this song. It surprises the listener many times, when the chord is unexpected. The piano arpeggios are very well chosen and the melodic line is agreable and innovative. As an ambient song, it excels. It modulates sensibly many times, despite the melody being very simple and repetitive. The performer, specially the piano or keyboard player, is very well acomplished.

I like it a lot, keep up the great work! This music is so relaxing and smooth. You must have been really inspired, would recommend it to anyone for meditation or relaxation. Keep on making music like this!

I love the song, it is very sweet and its interpretation, composition and harmonization is wonderful. The piano has a very dominant sound but it is heard at a very good recording level. perhaps only the acoustic bass could have a little more presence in the mix since it is very well interpreted but not equal with the other instruments. yeah, this is very classic and nicely played. Very smooth, jazzy feel and really a pleasant melody to listen to. I am not really keen on the cymbals I think it is used a bit disturbingly. Anyway it gets very harmonised by the end with all the instruments together. I actually really like the cover picture, and this sells most of it especially at this site. A very attractive balance between the piano and the bass, the battery; a lot of sensibility in games of the musicians. The melody in the piano is put forward well. The recording is measured well; we hear very well every instruments.A very beautiful performance !

I have listened to other tunes by this very Talented musician tunes that I would rate as far more creative and original, this one truly speaks on its own through the magic of the pianists skill ..
