This is a classic Duke Ellington piece that has a very subdued tempo. The sax and piano were well recorded. There's some light brushwork on drums. The bass is little down in the mix, (not too much of the percussive string pluck noises) but audible and played well. The saxophonist is prominently featured he played in a modern jazz style, (bop influence evident, as opposed to say a straight swing style), and he had "something to say" - played inventive phrasing in his solos. The keys were performed in way that showed deference to Ellington's touch but also showing the pianists skill and harmonic inventiveness. Overall outstanding professional performance of classic Ellington from down under. RIP Don Burrows and Erroll Buddle (Two reed playing pioneers from down under who I've heard before "On Camera" album). Nice job Dr Fred Cole and friends.

Mixed very well, the instrumentation on this one is great. It has a old time jazz feel that brings back the memories of jazz back in the day. An outstanding performance on the Saxophone as well !!! Ich selber produziere ja ganz andere Musik, aber sowas wie diesen Track könnte ich den ganzen Tag anhören. Entspannender , gekonnt vorgetragener deeper Jazzsound von absoluten Vollblutmusikern vorgetragen. Das Saxophon kommt extrem relaxed und professionell rüber. Da kann man glatt neidisch werden. Auch die anderen Instrumente sind einfach große Klasse - kein Ton zu viel, kein Ton zu wenig. Bin sehr beeindruckt von diesem Track. Daumen hoch und mehr davon:)

What a beautiful piece that is so soft and gentle. You can hear each instrument and the level of softness it brings to the melody. It reminds me of back in the day in New York when things were easy, going to a "Speak Easy" sitting listen to good vibes, and being surrounded by good people. The village was one of my favorite spots to sit outside in the summer with great music, clams on the half shell, and a bottle of Pino. I Love It!

Thank you for sharing this incredibly tasty rendition. It was eargasmic. I have not had the pleasure of this type of jazz listening in a while. I must say I was surprised to find it here on N1M. Fabulous musicianship! It was most pleasing to hear how each musician gave light to oneanother while shining themselves. Very relaxing groove. Dr. Fred Cole has recorded one of my favorite tunes, and does so eloquently. It is a very powerful, and moving recording with sax solo being very true to the song. It is full of wonder and imagination. I highly recommend listening to this.

beautiful jazz ballad... played with a beautiful saxophone sound and a lot of musicality. Beautiful piano voicings accompany a fantastic sax improviastion and let me fly and dream.... After the first chorus, it briefly goes into an upbeat doubletime, which gives the piece even longer wings, before an absolutely harmonious piano improvisation starts. Congratulations !

Very nice execution of an evergreen. Piano underlines smooth sax notes in a very good way. If I should suggest something for the production, it could be some more reverb on sax. The mix should sound as the instruments were in the same room.

I like the production sound and the vibe of the track along with the originality. I can feel the heart in this showing you've put in some dedicated work on your art. I grew up on jazz I love the sax solo. More artist should study the roots of their culture of art more to be better at their own art.
