Nice Acoustic Guitar Work

Helpful

"No Time To Cry", by Duane Risley. is a good song with some rally nice acoustic guitar work throughout. The song itself is reminiscent of James Taylor. The lyrics are good and they tell a story we are all familiar with. The main thing that struck me on the song was the guitar playing as it was not overwhelming, but it was a very pretty and at times intricate melody.

Instrumental based Song

This song impressed me, so I like to write something about. Really emotional lyrics from a very talented songwriter. Duane Risley vocals brings really a deep feel into the song. The passion comes from the heart and touching the soul. Although of sparse instrumentation a very extraordinary recording because showing us that a great played acoustic guitar are enough for good music. The imaginative transitions from the bridge to the chorus making the tune lively and creative. Overall good recorded song influenced by folk and country music. This ballad can remind of own problems in relations. Listen to the song and I´m sure you will like to add it. Let others know your recommendation.

Totally committed to just being a natural representation of a song idea, maybe from a bitter or devastating experience, perhaps still so extremely raw at the time of composition or even when recording it. Acoustically spot on and exposes the nativity of the song, no interferences from other instruments either and I appreciate how necessary it seemed to the writer/performer in this instance. It may be in future times somewhere down the line, you might return to it and produce a more layered version with vocal tracking and maybe some lamentful vocals and harmonies and tones as well as some percussion gently laid in there to enlarge it. a but of pedal steel wouldn't go amiss but really Duane, Well done

Hi Duane! Thank you for your heart felt song! Your lyrics I can tell are honest and real! Thank you for that! I think your song lends it to a ballad sound. The guitar is smooth and easy and nice to listen too. Your sound would lend itself to a coffee house setting or coffee house radio for distribution. With a camp fire feel to the song, I feel your lyrics are saddened by the times that your song is created in. Just thank you so much for sharing your song with all of us and Eagles fly High...no matter the winds dear friend! Have a beautiful day and thank you so much for sharing Your tune with me!! Creed Vibes

Hello Duane, I assume this song has really deep meaning to you. This is what I can perceive from the lyrics and the way you sing it. I really like the sound of the guitar and the design you used for it, the vocal though are a little shaky and sometimes off key. Maybe there is something to adjust in the recording or the mix, I just don't think they give justice to the meaning to the lyrics. Listening to this brought back memories of the late 90s and early 2000s with the creed vibe. I just think with the suggestions above you will enhance the song. Greeting from Italy!

Ok.. I don't know why but I hear it as if Duane Risley is a bit out of key with the vocals.. The guitar is nice but the lyrics are a bit too "Standard".. All together I think the song needs some more work in the production

Let me begin by letting you know how I will be addressing your song. I review from a commercial standpoint…..which is to say.... how would your composition fair if you were trying to place your song with a publishing firm? The other alternative would be.....you as artist. If that were the case then one either likes or dislikes what you have produced. That is not my agenda as I stated earlier. Nice song. The form works well and the sections are neat and tidy. Production is simple and effective. The lyrics work but if it were me I might consider some better word choices. No time to cry....no tears to dry ...etc etc (listing is a very effective way to tighten up your concept). When you competing against everyone else who is vying for the same thing......it's in your best interest to make it as good as you can. Re-writing has it's own set of rewards...not always fun but the sense of accomplishment after the fact is well worth it. Good work and keep writing! RW

Hello music lover ... I like to rate your music song today ... Your song is well produced and thought up. The timbre is good and the musical values for the song are sufficient. Nevertheless, the song is not quite perfect, the middle section of the song should have more come out. This is my feedback for your song..greetings Have a nice time

Great melody, nice song!

I love the melody in this song!. I know that the lyrics are personal, and I'm sure most people will relate in some form or fashion. The only thing I can see that needs some work it making sure the song is quantized. That will help with the feel of the song's tempo and flow. If you can fix that...fix it. It will make a big difference. Good luck!!

Man and his guitar. Just what I like to hear. This song seems to have a touch of Country with a spice of Coffee house music. Nice lyrics, could be a little longer and maybe a little back up. All together I'd give this song higher marks, good job

This is a nice song you've written and it has a good structure for what it is instrumentally. I feel you recorded this with your acoustic maybe at home with a mike or two. The best you will have with this is what you did already unless you take it to a real studio and have a producer/engineer record it. If you want to be impressed with what you wrote, let them use studio musicians to re-record it and use a pro singer to sing it. It will surprise you that what you wrote can sound that good! It's not that you can't write a good song, but you aren't representing the song in its best. Hopefully you try this and let me know!

In My Opinion

Helpful

Greetings, Thank you for choosing me to review your work, I count it an honor to be included in such a task. My hat is off to you and anyone willing to step out and share their gift, talent and love of music to the public. Be it a musician, singer, song writer, actor and so-on. I myself, via 40 some years of experience in the fields, on the road, in the studio, radio, TV, video, and management, consider myself to be a seasoned musician, singer, song writer, studio-sound tech/engineer/ owner/operator, stage manager, find it sometimes hard/difficult and perhaps not even fair to sit in a seat, voicing My Opinion concerning another's creative efforts. Especially in certain genres of music I am not all that familiar with concerning very important elements that make up and meet the required standards to justify the various levels of ratings and grades. So, in saying ALL that, I will limit myself to MY Opinion concerning the quality of the work according to My ears, and the standards I have been familiarized with thru-out the years. I hold to the old - saying " Beauty Is In The EAR of The Beholder ... LOL. The sound quality of the recording over-all is very crisp and bright and clear, I really enjoyed the message in this song.Think about a music solo break to step away from vocals for a short period in future works. Vocals are smooth and natural, sort of - down to earth as they say, and extremely peaceful. The mix levels let me know who was still in charge of this song. Very easy to sit back and listen to. I mean no offense in any part, I myself take all feedback and use it as a tool toward my next project. I pray you feel the same way. Either way, I say to you, keep doing what you do, keep kicking and enjoying what you do. I tell folks all the time for many years. When it stops being FUN, then it's time to stop, and stand back and think about what we are doing, why we are doing it, how we are doing it, what we and others are getting out it. Is it what we want, and how we want it. IF NOT. what are willing to do from there? Thank you again for asking MY OPINION. Johnny

This song has a very nice melody, quiet and simple, which seems fast a new age's music, but the structure remembers the blues ballads. The voice is clean and beauty. This is a contemporary blues song.
