The Edison Herbert Trio - ‘My Favourite Tunes’ Album Launch - Release Date 08/06/14
The Edison Herbert Trio is a collective of Jazz musicians from London who bring excitement,
verve and vitality to everything they play. They were brought together by virtuoso guitarist Edison
Herbert to perform at a series of concerts in London, but the musical chemistry they emitted led to
the development and creation of his new, ‘My Favourite Tunes’ project. Featuring on Drums,
Winston Clifford, on Double Bass, Neville Malcolm it also includes guest appearances from
Norman Clark, Graham Maynard and Wayne Boucaud led by guitarist Edison Herbert. This album
was recorded in London and will be released in June 2014.
Edison is keen to revisit some of his favourite songs past and present in an intimate setting. The Edison Herbert Trio are building a reputation for their engaging grooves, sensitive ballads and foot tapping numbers that mixes the familiar with the (expired link) refreshing way. About Edison Herbert
Edison is a fine expressive guitarist based in the UK. He has an accessible style with flowing rhythm and melodic lines. Edison always gives a tight performance and is a joy to listen to. Studying classical piano at Yorkshire College of Music with Irene Ingram and teaching himself the guitar led Edison to The Guildhall School Of Music and Drama where he studied the guitar with Phil Lee. He Performed with The Guildhall Big Band featuring Randy Brecker at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club. Edison moved on to write the arrangements for the West End musical nominated for an Olivier award, ‘Unforgettable,’ written by Clarke Peters, also playing Motown Music in the ‘The Grapevine’ and composing music for the BBC Radio 4, he has appeared on TV and worked with Rose Rose,The Jazz Warriors, ‘No Ordinary Christmas,’ featuring Kim Burell, HKB Finn and Snakeskips Johnson. Edison is an international musician who has toured England, Ireland, Spain, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok and the USA. He is currently spending his time promoting his new album the ‘My Favourite Tunes‘ project, performing, teaching and writing new work.
