About ElArJAY

José A. Rios Rodriguez (Humacao, Puerto Rico; October, 1983), known by his stage name ArJay, is a Puerto Rican singer-songwriter of urban music. His musical origins were influenced by the 2007-09 underground movement in Tampa, Florida. He begins his journey and falls in love with what is the art of music while completing his post-graduate studies in mechanical engineering. In 2012, producer Dj Memo became his mentor and pushed him in a new musical direction. He has worked with other producers such as Avalanche, Electronick, Duran the Coach, Fenndel, Bryan Lee (Chini-Lee), The Fifth Element, SPK, and others who have made his repertoire known. He has collaborated on musical projects with artists such as Jayko Pa, Eloy, Freddy Patron, Chezina, Alive, Aro Sanchez, Dantes El Alquimista, Duran the Coach and others.

His style is marked by freedom and passion for the various ways of perceiving the world and by the intention of living genuinely in connection with his followers and listeners. In 2017 he received an honorable mention recognition of musical writing for the song “Jugando al Azar” in the "International Songwriting Competition 2017."

At the moment, he continues working on new projects, both his own and those of other artists. At the same time collaborating in the professional development of other artists who are beginning their journey.
