Torres Vedras is a medium city scale placed north of Lisbon. About 45 km northwest the Portuguese capital. We organize since 2015 in a bianual periodicity a Festival named FNI - Festival Novas Invasões (New Invasions Festival). The concept is based in an historical event that take place in the region 200 years ago. It’s a important moment in Europe history that occur here and it’s the final period of the French Napoleon empire. What we call the period of the French Revolution. Anyway, this festival match a line of historical revisitation with a contemporary grid of events. We usually invite artists from the 4 belligerent countries. They are: Spain, France, UK and Portugal. And because the Festival celebrate the concept of invasion as a positive knowledge of the others, a way to open ourselves to the others we invite a new country every time. The next one, in 2017 is Japan.
