About Eli

Eli is a male solo artist born and bred in South London but now resides in the Republic of Ireland, polar opposites he adds.

The second oldest of 5. He was influenced from an early. His earliest memories of listening to music are of Motown, jamming to the likes of THE SHIRELLES, The Crystals, The Ronettes and Marvin Gaye plus many more. A very soulful mix that ignited his passion for music.

Somethings in life are not always guaranteed but Eli insists wherever he goes the music is soon to follow, it is a must one of his biggest guarantees.

Listening to his passion for music is very humbling. His musical influences sound like one epic music festival. No music genre is off limits, his music library is unbelievable no one genre more popular than the other. Controversially, liking both East side & Westside rapping greats 2pac and Biggie, with huge appreciation for both artists.

Eli walks me through every genre, Hip-Hop, R&B, Slow jams, Soul, Ragga/Reggae, Jungle/ D&B, UK House and Garage, 60s Rock, Pop, 90s Dance, Acid House And Old Skool etc. From artists such as Neptunes to Savage Garden, Bob Marley to Madonna, Calvin Harris to Fleetwood Mac, Blondie to DMX! No genre is off limits, he will listen to all and has a huge amount of respect for the soul cleansing music does, from the happy times to the sad times music is consistent and always reliable.

He is describes his own style as eclectic which is no surprize with all his influences. But he also advices it comes naturally, he fell into Dj-ing in the early noughties, became a hit on London radio and the natural progression was to begin making his own music. Producing his own instrumentals and writing the lyrics to match or vice the versa, he also sources them too. But he advises that he is a perfectionist, listening and relistening to ensure the sound and vibe is on point. At, times it can be frustrating but the end result is always worth it.

He then begins to play me some of his own original songs, DJ mixes and proceeds to play his own mash up mixes, is there no end to his talent! His preference his vinyl becoming very animated when talking about it, reminiscing arriving in the clubs with his DJ boxes laden in his hands, nothing beats mixing the real way. He is hopeful the resurgence in vinyl will continue.

As, we are finishing up I in awe of him and really looking forward to hearing more of his tracks in the future, something he is working on as we speak.
