Hello friends and fans!
It has almost been a year since I last wrote a message here. I apologize to those that have left the mailing list due to my inactivity. But for those that are here waiting for a word and music from me, I give you some good news.
I had an article written about me on an online national magazine for US accordion players to connect and spread news around the country. This is the link: (expired link).
Below is the article in the Nov 1 issue.
An Accordion in the Airport!
by Rita Barnea
(expired link). This is the link to my video used in the article.
Elizabeth WislerAccordionist Elizabeth Wisler entertains passengers from all parts of the globe each week at the Portland International Airport as part of the Port of Portland Musical Entertainment group. Since 2009, Elizabeth has been performing her "Music Around The World" repertoire for travelers from all parts of the globe. Every Saturday, she volunteers and plays her accordion in the secured area of Concourse D and the ABC Lobby. People stop to listen, chat, and learn about the accordion.
Her repertoire includes"Music Around the World”with
French, Italian, German, Spanish, Latin, Bossa Nova, Jazz Standards, 50's and 60's Rock and Roll, light Classical, and Ethnic.
Elizabeth has been playing the accordion most of her life. She studied with Luigi Rangan for many years. For twenty years, she was an employee of the state of Oregon as an insurance claims adjustor. Her greatest joy, however, is playing the accordion for people.
Elizabeth says, “Long live the accordion! Keep practicing and don’t ever give up!"

Getting ready for the New Year? Let it be safe, wonderful, and full of every good wish being realized.
For the past two years I have recorded, edited, and made my own CD covers. It started with someone asking me to make him a CD of waltzes. I named it Waltzes for Mario . Because I have so much repertoire I decided to capture batches of sounds coming from my midi accordion and backing module into organized collections. Hence, it has become an evolution of creating something better and different than before in each album.
The background music you hear to the video link given below is called Non Dimenticar, an Italian piece and the other, Watch What Happens, is one of my favorites by Michel LeGrand

As you know, I play the Roland Midi Accordion. What you might not know is that I am native to Portland, Oregon but have performed in Hawaii where I formerly lived. I have played the accordion since the age of 7 and had been under the tutelage of Luigi Rangan for many years. Some of my credits include many local banquets, weddings and restaurants. Island hotel performances include Mauni Lani, Mauna Kea Beach, Kona Surf, Hyatt, and Hilo Lagoon. I had my first gig on the Big Island back in October, 1986 playing my first Oktoberfest.
In Oregon where I live now, I have made special appearances at several Italian and French restaurants in the Portland area as well as at the 1996 Italian Fiesta and Mt. Angel's Oktoberfest since 2008. I also worked as a musician in the orchestra pit for "Fiddler on the Roof" at the Pentacle Theater in Salem, Oregon from November 12, 2010 to December 4, 2010.
Currently, I am part of the Port of Portland Musical Entertainment group and have been performing since 2009 at the Portland International Airport my "Music Around The World" repertoire to travelers from all parts of the globe. Check the roaster of performers ;

Hello, Faithful Subscribers,
I feel like you are in the "secret society" of the " accordion to Liz"! I hope all of you are enjoying your summer days. It is really hot here in Oregon with the highest pollen count in the USA and the likelihood of forbidden fireworks due to rain-less but hot days ahead.
To cool you off, I am posting a video of a classic cover that will keep those who remember smiling and happy. To others of other generations, this may be a new song. It is called "The Girl from Ipanema". Enjoy and feel free to email me a comment. Thanks. Elizabeth
