A musical flight...

El Magico brings us El Angel, an alternative music instrumental in the vein of Carlos Santana. Using sublime passages to allow for existential expression has been the trademark of Hector Lopez and he uses them quite well. As with many songs I have reviewed the main feature missing in this song is that it has not been taken through a full blown mastering process and on this one song I would have reduced the amount of reverb for the guitar in the original mixdown to allow it to come more to the front of the song. I would have prefered to hear a little more bottom end in this piece. A quality effort that could be taken to new heights.

Dance To This Spanish Electric Sound

Helpful

The Spanish Rock guitar sound of El Magico is compelling. The melody drives over a bed of percussion and bass. There is a street scene playing out in the background and while it can tend to almost get in the way, the artists used the sound effects to frame the picture of this urban scene from modern life. The guitarist is quite capable and his confidence keeps the melodic singing style moving along over the bed of rhythms. If you have a fondness in your heart for the classic Spanish sounds of Santana and others in this field, this song may well be for you. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am looking forward to even more from this talented artist!

Fantastic!!!

Excellent! I've reviewed this artist before and this track definitely shows growth. The part that I would have to say that impressed me the most about this one is the guitar solo. Lead guitar solo's are quickly becoming a lost are and Hector is carrying the torch nicely on this track. I would recommend this to anyone

el magico what more can I say, nice piece of music Santana like. Has a great feel if I were to give any and note, the only concern I would have is in the ambient part of the mix with the guitar seems a little behind but the effect is very cool I enjoy the overall theme which is well written and played. you have a great ability to play and have a lot of potential to go far. you have a lot of great style and a great energy. Keep it up!

Really Good Guitar Instrumental Track!

Helpful

I really like all of the changes in this instrumental track. Very creative and thought provoking musically. It ia also reminiscent of Carlos Santna. You were really able to capture the true essence of the legendary guitarist in certain parts of the song! Took me back to my childhood during the late 60's and early 70's when i use to listen to Santana a lot. The only negative in the track is that it needs to be professionally mastered to bring all of the instruments out more! ( GOOD TRACK )

Not Bad

I really like the Vibe that this track gives. That " Hot sex in Paradise Feel" Good Sound overall but It's a little Congested at times. Like perhaps there were two Solos going at the same time or the Reverb was too strong.

Dire Straits Groove

Helpful

Nice groove like Dire Straits. Tone and harmony changes for part B. Now comes the solo: Great, but i think percussion had blurry things. Rhythmic part has to be better defined in solo part, without percussion.Again there's some unclear lines and sounds overlaping in the end. Song is great, but rhythmic session need to be rethink. In overall aspects it's a great idea, with glimpses on guitar.

"El Angel"...

Hi Hector !! I just finished listening to your track, "El Angel". I have to say that in my opinion (and only my opinion) I find this track a little "weird" for my taste. I think because of the rhythms you are using. I'm not going to get into detail about specifics because I don't want to give the impression that it has to be "my" way. Of course not. I just honestly am disturbed about your percussion for this track. I love everything else about it. Also, I admire your creativity in your Production. You might want to give it a little more "room to breathe" though. "Less is More". Best to you and your music. - Richard - Richard Danar Music.

Good piece of music

Helpful

Overall I think this is a pretty good piece of music. Great job! a couple of things I say about this music is. I like a lot of the ideas you have in your music. When listening, I felt the one of the lead guitar tracks sits a little to far back in the mix. A little hidden behind the reverb. Perhaps in the future, if you have something like this and in the mix down phase, It would give a little more punch and pop to not have as much reverb, this way it sits more in the foreground, unless that was your intention? Just something to think about. I like your use of some phrygian mode passages mixed with harmonic minor rifts. .

Cool Santana feeling track here... lot's of different guitar tones. Mix wise I might get the drums up in level a bit and center them more...but it is a little old school to have them panned which is also cool. I like the panned percussion. Over all cool track - I'd just like to hear a more present drum track. Nicely done though...

Nice, but needs work

There is much about this song that I like....the wah guitar....the end background which sounds to me like passing traffic. But there is no theme at this point. It needs tightening up. This song has great potential. Good work!

is nice to hear talented today and I noticed here today that you are a lead musician guitars, and you are very good ,and with ethnic rhythm gives an urban air fantastic . tell me if I'm lying, but we all aspire to sound incredibly, but till the point that can be in terms of production reached. you are ideologically good, very melodic and fits you compose everything in this song and you are creative and do not sound nothing bad.
