Empirical Knowledge- The artist Empirical Knowledge consist of Dylan Lee's completely unique style and personalities. Empirical Knowledge definition is “The art of learning, by doing.” EK consist of not only Dylan Lee, but also the other half of him, Mordahky!! Mordahky is the split personality created from the corrupt and evil events, experiences, and lessons faced in life. He’s the dark, as Dylan Lee is the light. Together they create an amazing message about drug addiction, overcoming adversity, and rising above the struggles in life. With lyrical creative formats delivered through poetic Hip Hop, Empirical Knowledge will keep you intuned and entertained whenever needed.

Dylan Lee- I was born September 27th 1991 in Honolulu Hawaii. My childhood was normal on one side and demented on the other. My mother did everything she could to raise me into an honest person. My father was a neglecting, manipulating, sociopath. I was forced to confine in myself and create my own ways to escape the pain. When my mom remarried we moved to Denver and I started seeing a life I never saw before. I was a varsity athlete in school who lost everything when I picked up a heroin and cocaine addiction. I was an iv drug user and the path lead me to attempted suicides, and eventually prison. I was sentenced to 6 years in the Colorado department of corrections. My father works for (expired link). and that made my time even harder. I did 3 yrs. Before I saw parole. I was out 10 months before I relapsed on the needle, and went back. I did the remainder of my sentence inside and was released March 6th of 2015. That time made me truly take a look at my music and mold what I wanted to become. Empirical Knowledge means to learn by doing. Everyone has their own Empirical Knowledge, it's just the people who choose to use it rise above the rest. That's me.

Music Career- I have really been pursuing my music dreams since I was 17. I found out that I could flow and with a little practice and dedication I started forming a unique sound. Before I went to prison I was working with a long time friend Daniel Evans known now as Mr. Bugatti of The Party People. (“The Only Love I Know” is a track I did with them) that was only for a short time because I went to prison at 18. I developed my word play and inception throughout my years inside, and when I was released I truly took it to heart and started pursuing. My friend Benjamin's Vibe, who was in a way, my mentor, pushed me to expand lyrically, socially, and musically. I layed my first professional track with Ben and The Party People Called “Ready to Vibe.” Ben than introduced me to my now good friend and audio engineer Jonathan Plumb aka “Blizz”. He owns Apollo Sound Recording in Colorado Springs ((expired link)) this is where I call home. All my music has been engineered and vocalize with Blizz. We have built a really tight sound together and I can't wait to bring producers to him and really get intricate. At the beginning of my music career, I found a very special person who I like to call my true motivation. Merrillye Barnwell was my savor in a lot of different elements. She showed me that life can be innocent and it doesn't have to always be destruction. She showed me that I can be a good hearted person and really feel the passion that we call love. I relapsed on crystal meth with a needle and was a lost soul. I found her and she saw what kinda person I really was. She saw my potential, she saw my pain and sorrow, But she never saw doubt. She trusted me with her life the second she saw me and it hasn't changed since. A lot of my music revolves around her. "I'm Only Human, My Unexpected Life, and I Tried" ((expired link)) are all creations of my art built around her, and there is plenty more inspiration that thrives from her everyday. When me and Merrillye started dating it took about 3 months before I really got motivated to try something. Once I got in the studio it was over. I became addicted instantly. My first track "Fight Back" ((expired link)) was recorded and two more Closely followed. (Absolutely Shit and Psycho Babble). These first tracks got me noticed enough to make my debut show with (expired link). The Rugged Man. Over the next couple years, (expired link). has become a known name in the Colorado Springs Hip Hop scene and continues to make his music and message heard. He’s been blessed to perform with majors artist such as Krizz Kaliko, Chris Webby, MayDay from Strange Music, Ces Cru, Madchild, Stevie Stone, and Black Pegasus! Dylan Lee has put together 3 Impressive Mixtapes, The Struggle’s Real Vol.1, Boss Knowledge, & (expired link). (Rhyme in Peace).
