Dawn of Darkness

As I listen to this song I think of horror films like phantasm or other late 20th century movies. The music is clearly written to grab the listener's attention with strong musical punchlines. Erik Peter hits a home run with this piece. I could listen to it over the length of a movie. Nice writing and execution.

New York composer Erik-Peter Mortensen has composed an epic soundscape especially suitable for fantasy-type video games. A haunting clarinet, menacing flutes, soaring strings, and pounding drums all contribute to its success.

Alright folks lets check out this cool sounding track, man. I love the beginning intro such theatrical piano and keyboards taking me back to the days of Danny Elfman and into boingo.its taking me on this incredible journey as if I was running down the conga river in a dark scary place.this whole song takes me on a great epic journey. The arrangements the tracks played and rehearsed wow.this truly is a great track. You should do movie hitches and productions. Awesome.

Dawn of Darkness; review

A classical film score vibe in this production, violins cello, drums and brass/wind sections. This has a great highly polished and mastered finish to this recording. The instrumentation and composition are absolutely first class and goes to show the skillfull musicianship of the performers. A great introduction to classical styled music for newbies to the genre. This one is definately for theatre goers.

Dawn of Darkness - Review

A very nice opening for a soft build that would bring in more intensity. This has a way of getting up your curiosity. There is a number of great instruments that build. The violins on a galloping pace and the drums keep the suspense and instruments give it a great variety. This would describe what I would see in a movie of something about to happen. This comes back down with a great last beat ending. Nicely done! All the best!.

Apprehension grips you from the outset, spookily conjuring mystery using a mix of keys and strings. Flutes and woodwind along with tympanis beat with your heart, and a clarinet carries you into a gloomy atmosphere. Under all of this there are reminiscences of Harry Potter, Pan's Labyrinth, Stranger Things. In a world where we hear soundtracks blending with classical fugues and arpeggios, this one certainly stirs the emotions, eliciting a daunting and otherworldly challenge. If I were to look for anything to enhance a film which questions my reality, this would be my choice.

A Paradox... musically speaking.

Merriam Webster defines a paradox as... a statement that is seemingly contradictory or opposed to common sense and yet is perhaps true.. This work juxtaposes dawn (light) with darkness... Mr. Mortensen then makes the paradox true through music. He begins with a piano and then embellishes with darker elements.. He showcases many instruments to establish the motif and paint a visual image. I could see this working well in a movie. Well done!

The Maestro has done it again.

The maestro has done it again, another amazing musical composition. Music that is theme very well that takes it's listeners on an amazing journey through sites and sounds. I totally love your dynamic swells and builds ,beginning with light piano and strings and climaxing with full robust orchestrations. Very cool delay effect on the drums, the horns on this one set the tone for darkness and creates a great thriller effect, great job Erik.
