Song Reviews

Anthemic
A huge anthemic beautiful song. Great vocals and well mixed. Nice lyrics with a true message. A song that would be great to hear live. A perfect mix of light and shade. Definitely would like to hear more from ERN.. In all a very enjoyable Song.

Spiritual
Pop music with a strong spiritual message. Very melodic, it keeps a aerial side with the backing vocals on top.. Strong influence of the 70s music and mainly influenced by the Beatles and the Wings.

Good song nice lyrics
The melodie is very nice to listen to. I like when it is has that dreamy sound. You also build it up, it starts witch the piano and later on the drums and guitar kicks in with the electric as-well. The backing vocals are good too, the swell nice with the lead. The only thing I don't follow is the fate out. And not a straight ending but that is a matter of tast, I think.

awesome!
It's actually super nice! it flows really well and I really like the lyrics too, even if I'm not religious. It's a song I would listen to normally! I also like the instrumental part with the guitar. Well, I'm actually struggling to write something more but it's really difficult this time, because I really don't have critics, which is rare :D A really good job, I wish you good luck! Delightful Piano
I love the piano and the blend of the music. I like the lyrics. I like how the song picks up early on combining with vocals and the instruments. A very nice beat. The harmony is well blended. I like the guitar the best.

Refreshing song!
Such a nice flowing song from beginning to end. The vocals harmonies are very well done. The instrument mix is also very well done as I can hear everything going on in the song and nothing is over powering the other. The blending of the piano and guitar sounds really good on this song and when the heavy part of the song kicks in it takes the song to heaven! The vocal volume could have been a bit stronger and perhaps a little more EQ to give more clarity but other than that A very good song composition.

Erik Nordsong - Show Me The Way To Heaven
One of the best spiritual songs I've heard in a long time. Expressing the doubts we all have in God. The production sound is excellent. Could easily be on anyone's playlist not only for Spiritual but also pop. Has an Alan Parsons feel to it.

Beautiful Beginning
What a beautiful song. Such good singing, and harmonies. Very well put together song. Has a full rich sound. Good instrumentation, and mixing/recording, as all instruments can be heard well. Also, the fact that this song is very heartfelt, as it is apparent in the singing and sound. Really good quality song. Best wishes, Merry Christmas Edward Westbrook "Atomic Energy Society"

Show Me The Way To Heaven
Spiritually based lyrics, soft rock gospel music, positive messaging, hope inspired, the singer is seeking grace. The vocals are clear, the words understood, this is good and important. The vocals are strong, and appear to be all done by one singer overlaying thirds. It works, but sometimes a different quality vocalist, another male or female can bring fresh dimension to the performance. I feel the drums and bass can come up more in the overall mix, especially at the crescendos, the electric guitar runs at outre could come up more before they fade out too, and the acoustic guitar runs want more depth to add subtle contrast and tension. It feels like a work in progress very near completion, as if done well on a home studio. I may be wrong but, it sounds as if the artist directed the overall recording and a lot can change in when an experienced engineer applies his expertise as well. I believe this is essential in the final mastering process. The core of the song is here. I suggest you have it remastered professionally. As for me, going between the two chords alone throughout was not interesting when arriving at mid song. I needed something to surprise or draw my attention at that point.Because the melody became too predictable and although the message was clear and passionate it lost it's musical edge. Maybe a two measure drum break or an acoustic guitar playing alone with shakers keeping the beat, then the band comes back in and builds with a calm intensity creating movement and excitement. This music is important but still, in itself, you are a musician providing entertainment. There was a praise band in the 70's, I believe they were called "Love Song". They were at the beginning of the movement revival, but where they stood out was their strong use of dynamics. Your intentions and passion are well appreciated. You are moving in the right direction.

Here - it's this way.
One of the things I enjoy most about Number One Music artists is the newfound ability to hear music from around the world by singers who I'd never have the chance to listen to otherwise. That, in itself, is a great thing. Here, with this song a local band is always super cool. Expertly produced and mixed. The music is really engaging and vocally so smooth and clear. I really am enjoying this song! #Heavenly

Nicely integrated back here!
Nice vocals, especially when the back vocals come in to back the lead. It almost sounded like a Christmas carol for a second there! :-) The guitar solo is absolutely great, but it should be a bit louder in the mix. Many instruments like the piano and strings could also use a little boost in volume. Some EQing on the drum could also do wonders. The whole mix would sound better and less compressed if you added a bit of bass and treble to it. Ending is a little abrupt, why not add a fade out there that would completely mute it? Overall not a bad track, probably not something I would listen to every day, but still enjoyable nonetheless. Good work!

Easy On The Ear
This song is easy on the ear, relaxing and calming. I get asked to review too many songs with heavily distorted guitars and vocals which are shouted or growled rather than sung. Makes me wonder how some of these "musicians" expect to get anywhere in the music industry. But this song is different. It has a mellow vibe and feel which is pleasing to the ear. The only thing I don't like about this song is it's length. It is a little to long. But apart from that, it's fine. Keep up the good work.

Show Me the Way to Heaven
Erik, I really enjoyed the song. It has marvelous spiritual aspects and anyone can tell it comes from the heart. My interest in reviewing comes from the engineering standpoint. If you're looking for a "spatial" aspect to the song, you definitely found it. But, in spots, it becomes overwhelming...to the point of distraction from the vocals and the lyrics. My suggestions are pretty simple: 1 - Let that beautiful voice shine through a bit more with less reverb. Same for the background vocals...especially in the chorus line. 2 - When the full band kicks in on the chorus, the vocals lack the clarity and presence that were established when you were singing solo. When the band kicks in, back off the vocal reverb, bring all the vocals up a bit, and blend that into the recording, you will still have your spatial feel, but the new sound clarity will be a distinct positive...and the vocals will be on top where they belong. I hope this helps...just my two cents....keep writing those great songs... Tom

Paradis
Very nice melody for a song with drawers. full of surprises. we think of another Robert, Robert Wyatt, a genius of labyrinth songs. Everything is very well written and we do not get tired of this refrain that leads us to paradise.

A soft atmosphere
This is a soft ballad, with different influences, from the pop music to the blues. The audio is a few low, but the impression is that this song is very quite and the atmosphere is very positive.
