valzer lento

Great voice, beautiful song
I like how you've done this song, the vocals and harmonies work really well. It's nice to hear the "live" drums as so many times they are programmed and it that's not done well it sucks the "feel" out of a song. Balance is nice, well recorded and arranged. Good job!! :)

Nice Simple Going Song.
As for this song 'Give Thanks' in the form or genre of Christian Country, it's quite simply a song to show gratitude to the heavenly Father. But despite what I have said, I honestly could not personally make out a few words that were pronounced in just a few of the lines sung, but I was able to receive the message of the song. Great playing by the band in the song, everyone was basically on beat and nothing stood out to me at all. The lyrics of the song was a nice fit and was able to deliver the message but to be careful not to make the lyrics too lengthy in some parts as that would definitely lose attentiveness rather quickly to the audience. Overall, I have to respect the process it takes to formulate a piece of recording as long as I can see effort and hard work was put in place, which I can definitely could see on this end. God bless and take care. Roger W.

So lovely in your voice I hear your gratitude and love for Our Savior. You send your listeners wisdom in your lyrics. I like the gentle soft brush on the drums. That instrument is beautiful whatever it is, sounds like a special guitar with modifications or is it an organ with sound effects? IThe compositions of your music always match so well your lyrics. Very anointed and full of sagacious leaves and fruits from the Tree of Wisdom. Love to you Esther. Please keep praying for your listeners. Thank you for your talents sown so well timed in every way!

Hi Esther, I really like the effect applied to the harmonies in your vocals. The sound splits out very nicely and renders a very full sounding harmonic effect. The mix is good and the dynamics seem spot on so all I can say is keep up the good work writing music for the Lord. I pray that he continually blesses you and your endeavors in building His kingdom. So Praise the Lord and Glory Be and raise a Hallelujah in His wondrous and most holy name!!!!!

Prayer
In all things give thanks, when we get what we want it’s easy to say thank you, but when things are a little tougher we have to still have to know that it’s only there to make us better people. Really love the harmony on this project.

Honest but awkward
Esther Swably's recording of "Give Thanks" is a slightly awkward waltz, with a message of thanks for many years of answered prayers, and is remarkably honest in that she humanly admits that sometimes she misunderstands the guidance she gets from God. We all do, but how many of us are willing to admit it? This tune is stamped with Esther's trademark genuine down-home country sweetness and excellent 2-part vocal harmony. She is backed by an excellent band that has learned to restrain their personal virtuosity in order to back Esther and keep the mix in congruence with the lead vocal. Ultimately, though, I don't know if waltzes are their thing. The song gets off to an awkward start, and it is several bars in before the listener is clear on the time signature. The guitar has a long ride in the middle of the song, and keeps his solo understated, to a fault. There is plenty of room to make more of a statement. Not a statement about how good you are on guitar, but rather a statement about how the song feels to you. From a songwriting standpoint, there is quite a bit of awkward phrasing, resulting in some glaring grammatical errors, but honestly, grammar doesn't matter in popular music. What matters is that the expression is genuine and relatable. All in all, this group has made the necessary adjustments to reconcile the overall sound to the personality and mood of Esther's voice and lyrics. That takes a maturity and selflessness that is commendable.

In MY Opinion
Greetings, Thank you for choosing me to review your work, I count it an honor to be included in such a task. My hat is off to you and anyone willing to step out and share their gift, talent and love of music to the public. Be it a musician, singer, song writer, actor and so-on. I myself, via 40 some years of experience in the fields, on the road, in the studio, radio, TV, video, and management, consider myself to be a seasoned musician, singer, song writer, studio-sound tech/engineer/ owner/operator, stage manager, find it sometimes hard/difficult and perhaps not even fair to sit in a seat, voicing My Opinion concerning another's creative efforts. Especially in certain genres of music I am not all that familiar with concerning very important elements that make up and meet the required standards to justify the various levels of ratings and grades. So, in saying ALL that, I will limit myself to MY Opinion concerning the quality of the work according to My ears, and the standards I have been familiarized with thru-out the years. I hold to the old - saying " Beauty Is In The EAR of The Beholder ... LOL. The sound quality of the recording over-all is very crisp and bright and clear, I really enjoyed the guitar work. Vocals are smooth and natural, sort of - down to earth as they say, and extremely peaceful. The mix levels let me know who was still in charge of this song. Very easy to sit back and listen to. Really enjoyed the message in this song. Thank you. I mean no offense in any part, I myself take all feedback and use it as a tool toward my next project. I pray you feel the same way. Either way, I say to you, keep doing what you do, keep kicking and enjoying what you do. I tell folks all the time for many years. When it stops being FUN, then it's time to stop, and stand back and think about what we are doing, why we are doing it, how we are doing it, what we and others are getting out it. Is it what we want, and how we want it. IF NOT. what are willing to do from there? Thank you again for asking MY OPINION. Johnny

Give Thanks Review
Good morning Esther. Here is a great song in the making for sure. Rather than the immediate start with the lyrics, I was kind of hoping to hear more of a musical introduction than what there was, which tends to set the mood for a receptive heart in the listener. It is a great, gentle flowing song & message for sure. There are are numerous times through-out the song where there is not enough of a pause between lyrical phrases, which conflicts with the gentle even flowing theme of the music. I absolutely love the message of this song. Keep up the great work of bringing us the heart of our Father. Is that you who has created the harmony voices? If so, I thought so; great job on those as well. Over all sister, great job. Keep up the great work. Hearts will be touched for the Father. Many blessings, Trev :)

Thanks so much for posting your song. Also for asking for reviews. Your vocal is out front which is right where it belongs. I do have a question. Do you have a producer who actually sits and arranges with you. I think you would flourish with a good solid producer. Oh, I really like the sound of the drum kit. I like your song and THANKS again.
