About Falk Bonitz Trio
FALK BONITZ
Falk Bonitz came to jazz after a ten year classical education. His passion for rhythm and particularly latin music took over and started its expression in the Falk Bonitz Trio. Later on, his sound developed into a combination of music from the romantic era and progressive latin jazz. This unusual fusion creates one of the most innovative ensembles of the young Berlin jazz scene.
Falk Bonitz's professional path in the music world first took him down the road of theatre, as musical director and musician on different productions at Volkstheater Rostock, of cinema as live improvisor for silent movies, and to pop music.
Since 2009 he has been living and working in Berlin as pianist and keyboard player, accompanying and performing with artists like Keith Tynes (The Platters), Robert Martin (Frank Zappa), Ingrid Arthur (Weather Girls), Lulo Reinhardt and many more. Amongst them, Steven Tailor a saxophone and flute player, in a baroque-jazz project called ''BACHarts'', in which Falk finds his way back to his classical roots.
One of his latest collaborations is with guitarist Yuval Ron, as a part of his band ''Residents of the Future'', exploring new musical avenues in progressive rock and fusion jazz.
His most exciting one is alongside Haitian/Canadian singer Rachelle Ebony Jeanty, ex back vocalist of Celine Dion, Eddy Mitchell and Robert Charlebois, percussively playing in her new ''Afro Jazz Experience''.
In the recent years he played at international festivals such as Montevideo Jazz Festival, Alanya Jazz Days and in churches and concert halls all over Europe.
