Falkortet is an Oakland based percussion quartet founded in 2009, with the mission of bringing new life to old works and expanding on traditional concepts in new compositions. Their versatile music-ma Trained as both a performer and composer that - along with their diverse artistic influences - allow him or her to create a sense of unity within the differing languages of classical and contemporary percussion music. Falkortet is an Oakland-based percussion quartet that performs modern interpretations of standard works and is a percussive outlet for a wide array of original compositions. With members educated at Mills College, UC Santa Cruz, and CalArts, Falkortet is dedicated to extending the mission of these forward-thinking experimental universities through the ensemble's musical works and performances.
