Fastlayne from Paisley in Scotland UK, formed in 1989 had a break, had kids, kids grew up, Fastlayne reformed
the rest is NOW. Formed in 1989, Fastlayne first came to prominence through their involvement in that years Rockfest in their home town of East Kilbride, appearing alongside Runrig, Gun and The Wake. After winning 1990's Tennents Live Battle of the Bands, they recruited Drunken State vocalist Robert Traish, fresh from the success of that bands acclaimed debut album "Kilt by Death". A Television documentary on Fastlayne as part of the Beat n Trax series brought further recognition and the band embarked on a sustained campaign of touring throughout the UK. Debut EP "Rock the West" received the backing of Radio Clyde DJ Tom Russell who as well as regularly playing it on his Friday night rock show, compered at many of the bands shows. A video featuring the band and the US Calendar Girls received the backing of MTV's Vanessa Warwick and the Headbangers (expired link) out gigs in London brought them to the attention of several companies and having signed to Mystic Records the band relocated to Wales to begin work on their first album.
