Surprisingly Great Song

Helpful

Kyle Nicholas' new song, "Moon to the Sea" just surprised me. The acoustic guitar is crisp, clean and beautifully played and the vocals are beautiful. The lyrics are easy to follow and the musical accompaniment is perfectly matched. I'm really glad I clicked this 1 for review. This is 1 of the best songs I've had the pleasure to review on this site. Thanks Kyle

In My Opinion

Greetings, Thank you for choosing me to review your work, I count it an honor to be included in such a task. My hat is off to you and anyone willing to step out and share their gift, talent and love of music to the public. Be it a musician, singer, song writer, actor and so-on. I myself, via 40 some years of experience in the fields, on the road, in the studio, radio, TV, video, and management, consider myself to be a seasoned musician, singer, song writer, studio-sound tech/engineer/ owner/operator, stage manager, find it sometimes hard/difficult and perhaps not even fair to sit in a seat, voicing My Opinion concerning another's creative efforts. Especially in certain genres of music I am not all that familiar with concerning very important elements that make up and meet the required standards to justify the various levels of ratings and grades. So, in saying ALL that, I will limit myself to MY Opinion concerning the quality of the work according to My ears, and the standards I have been familiarized with thru-out the years. I hold to the old - saying " Beauty Is In The EAR of The Beholder ... LOL. The sound quality of the recording over-all is very crisp and bright and clear, I really enjoyed the message and backing music in this song. Vocals are smooth and natural, sort of - down to earth as they say, and extremely peaceful. The mix levels let me know who was still in charge of this song. Very easy to sit back and listen to. I mean no offense in any part, I myself take all feedback and use it as a tool toward my next project. I pray you feel the same way. Either way, I say to you, keep doing what you do, keep kicking and enjoying what you do. I tell folks all the time for many years. When it stops being FUN, then it's time to stop, and stand back and think about what we are doing, why we are doing it, how we are doing it, what we and others are getting out it. Is it what we want, and how we want it. IF NOT. what are willing to do from there? Thank you again for asking MY OPINION. Johnny

Being an acoustic guitarist since 1963, I look for specific things. Your track has a Marshall/Tucker to it, The lyrics are good and vocal range is excellent and the lead guitar accents and does not over-power. The harmonica is perfect in most places but in one or two it is over-done. The track cries out for bass and drums. The melodic high vocal placements are well placed . An harmonic vocal in the chorus except the last phrase would be of benefit. Good listen.

Sweet Song

The song is a sweet song, no doubt. The vocals are a bit too out front. The mix on the guitar, keys could’ve been balanced more to define their position. When the vocals hit the guitar drops a bit. The song could use a little more depht in terms of bottom end, to fill it out. The harmonica was a bit crazy at the end as well. The song overall is sung well, it just needs to be refined with a better mix. Otherwise keep making music!

Impressive Lovesong

Helpful

This song influenced by country music is really remarkable. All the way from stanza to the chorus accompained of brilliant acoustic-guitars and melodious played solo parts. The music style is also mixed up with contemporary folk style and definitely professional arrangened. Additional instrumentation like harmonica and smooth key sound increases the music as an extra factor. Romantical lyrics come from the heart and leads to passionated feelings by using distinctive style. Accompaining acoustic guitars sounding lively and the solo-parts including soft melodical alternations coming at the right time. Kyle Nicholas managed to create an exceptional sounding track. Listen to the song and I´m sure you will like add him.

A great Job

Moon to the sea... Maybe it could be a conventional romantic song; but making a song to stand out among others, has its charm and in this case Kyle has achieved it in an excellent way... A song that transports us not only to nostalgia for the loves that although failed (or successful too), do not leave to accompany us with his load of, joy and pain, indifference, anger and above all, fragility... Well that's at least what this excellent song caused me... I am very grateful (without being the author of the idea, perhaps) that they have integrated the synths in the background... they give it a personality and create an ideal atmosphere for the declared romantics, anyway... I think I have heard somewhere, some applause that perhaps was not so necessary, the topic sells itself. Thank you for this gem...!!

ballata

Your uniquely strong voice and the emotional way you sing this beautiful song adds to the overall feel of it. I love the song and the way you sing it. Your music is very good, and I'm proud to tell you that I feel very privileged to be able to give this review... Like they say; "good music deserves to be heard." I'm sure yours will be more than heard. I expect to one day, see and hear your tunes on the mainstream. Best wishes from me to you... Stay strong and keep the faith. 'Bodederek

A Winner All The Way

To my ears, the song's a winner. Album and single material. You've got a country-sounding voice in this song and I strongly suggest you go all it and countrify this song as much as it can handle with the usual steel guitar and fiddle stuff etc., and with the best players you can get, with proven track records. You could also try and get it thru to established country producers and see if they'd like to get involved with it. My dad got his wee country song arranged/produced by Ted Hewitt in Nashville (he's had the no 1 album and single smashes with Rodney Atkins and did stuff with Reba etc)...my dad's song ended up getting to number 1 in the Irish country music charts and number 2 in the French country charts and turned out to be THE fastest-climbing song in the history of the European Country Music Charts. Not bad for a demo by Ted and with an unknown male singer. If Ted was interested in adding his magic touch to your song, it may well turn out to be something very special. If you want his email address, just ask. From Scotland, wishing you the very best with your career, Amanda a.k.a. AJay Mac

Moon To The Sea

Let me start by qualifying how I review material.....I listen to the song from a commercial standpoint....which is to say... is the song a viable vehicle to present to artists and or publishing houses for inclusion on an upcoming project? The other option would be you as an artist .... in which case either one likes …..or one dislikes. There's a lot to like in this song......Your production is well thought out and implemented.... Ld vocal gets the concept across and there's some nice imagery in the lyrics. Nice melody and chord changes.... If it were me I might re-visit some of the following: 1 Do you need that many solos? I might consider only (1) solo after the second chorus as opposed to two solos. or..... 2 Maybe a bridge section in place of the solos? Utilizing a bridge would allow you to implement another musical segue....thereby allowing a new concept musically and at the same time allowing you to tie any loose ends up lyrically. You have a wonderful resource available from which you can gather information (internet)....Maybe check out your favorite artists and see how they handle form and presentation? Again.... a nice effort! Keep WRITING! RW

A nice folk ballad

This romantic song is very beauty, the structure seems a folk ballad, while the clean voice of the singer reminds to the 80s. I like the use of the accordion very much. It remembers Goo goo dolls.
