Laisse rodéo, mes amis
This is the second review that I've done for one of Francois Spannenburg's songs and I must say that this man is a totally amazing talent. Not many people can play the harmonica as well as this man can. He's so good I dare say that he'd give John Popper of Blues Traveler a serious run for his money. His latest effort, "Rodeo", is aptly titled. This song is a musical rodeo tour de force! I don't know who his band compadre's are, but they're all almost as equally talented as Francois at their respective instruments. The melodic imagery is powerful and tugs as the imagination. The dominant instrument, of course, is Francois's howling harmonica, but there rare cameo performances by every instrument in the band. The Telecaster lead almost sounds like a rodeo clown bounding and bouncing off of barrels trying to divert attention from some raging bull in the ring! I tell you, this is a truly memorable performance by a group of deeply gifted musicians. This song is like a combination bull ride, saddle bronc, and barrel ride all rolled up in one unforgettable experience. I love this tune! Laisse rodéo, mes amis!

I Ain't a Harpin'
Music is definetly universal and this guy sure passes over the boundaries. Really nice song and great performance. If I get the chance to make it over there in your country again soon we should get together for a performance. You really put heart into your music. God Bless and keep up the fantastic work you're doing.

Harmonica chops!
Amsterdam-based harmonica artist Francois Spannenburg has produced a fun & exciting track entitled Rodeo. The tempo is burning and it challenges the band to keep things moving. The song features solos from the rhythm section instruments.

Ahh Bluegrass
I am always up for some good bluegrass and this is good bluegrass. It's fun and the harmonica drives it all the way through. We need more people to play this kind of American music that shows the fun and sorrow of being out of the mainstream of life. Thank you Francois!

High Speed Harmonica
Wow super high speed harmonica and impressive guitar work. I would like to see this band live, it must be an experience. I would say this is Bluegrass music, not in the typical Bill Monroe style, not with the usual instrumentation, but with the spirit of Bluegrass. It's fun to listen and it would certainly be even more fun to be there live. Hope to see you one day close to my hometown.

Blown away
Hey great job on that little piece of tin, and the band is not laging either. I enjoyed this little tune greatly The dummer is ight on time and th bass player is right there doing some cool stuff. I know that took some air to get it done but overall was a nice job on a great instrumental. Would like to see you guys do that live and would reccomend it to others, hang in there and come up with some more fast little toe tapping tunes for us to enjoy! Plenty of energy in this song.

Uptempo fun!
Reminiscent of Yakety Sax this barn burner blazes away on the harmonica and guitar and just doesn't start. The rhythm section is tight and the changes are right on. Perfect for two stepping away at the local honky tonk on a Friday night. At 2:48 it's the perfect length for radio programmers and bluegrass and new grass formats. The mix and mastering are also excellent and I applaud the overall performance. Great job guys and keep rocking that bluegrass! It's a hoot and a half! :)

Rodeo
Hi again Francois. Right off the bat I felt like I could be flying around the arena on a tornado; awesome. lol :) Very nice change-up of instruments. There were a couple of notes that didn't seem to fit in the scale of the key that the song was written in, but they flew by so fast that they were hardly noticeable. Keep 'em coming my friend. :)

A Real Toe Tapping Tune.
Wow. Some blistering guitar playing and awesome tooting on the harp. A good old fashioned toe tapping tune. This piece could certainly be used as the backdrop for a Rodeo. It would fir like a glove. You can almost see the bucking bronco throw the rider. Love it.

Review of Rodeo
Without a doubt you & your band are extremely talented ! I liked the way you featured each instrument (except for the bass). I know each of our definitions of music styles has much to do with our location & heritage. Here in America, when you saw Bluegrass in relation to music style, we expect to hear some Banjo, Fiddle, & acoustacl guitar & Mandolin. I missed those standards we love in Bluegrass music here. Other than that you have a very enjoyable, toe tapping tune.

Energy at its MAX
A very competent live recording - saved from being frantic by virtue of it being tightly played. I would like a bit more dynamic as it seems to track along at the same level a bit, but an all round good live version.

Turn'em Lose
Great instrumental !!! I can just see the Rodeo Contestants riding Saddle Broncs, Roping Calves, Riding Bulls, and Running the Barrels. Good work! I've done some of things most of my life. This has a good feel. To me any way. I'm sure many more will feel the same way.

Nicely Done :)
A piece of good music, I like the chops on guitar and the harmonica there is stunning! Gives you a real bluegrass feeling and makes you wanna just jump into your car and drive towards the sunset :)))

Benny Hill
This tune made me smile first up. Reminded me of the theme from The Benny Hill Show on television. It's a bright little tune, very tight playing by all involved, although the guitar player got a little behind in his solo. The harmonica player is really good, great tone and spot on. My foot was tapping by the end. A great little tune.

Hello from Jerzy...
Wow... more like Polka / Traditional Jazz... to me..hahaha...Good playing..to bad that some parts are off the tune...is also to fast ..but it is good for live Concert... I do not think it will be played on FM or AM Radio..I like it... thank You for letting me listen something new....

Rodeo
Well, I can hear some serious harmonica talent in this one but, the sound mix is just way too busy for me... You also tagged it as a bluegrass/country song but, I don't hear those elements in it... Seems more like an Eastern European folk tune on steroids... Again, the musicianship is very talented but, this probably isn't one you'd take to the studio... Good luck with it...
