Review from Mike

After listening to this song called "I'm a girl" by a band in france, I was impressed. When the song first started I wasn't sure which direction it would take. However; the more I listened the more I started liking the melody and music arrangement. The singers voice also started to grow on me with it's unique quality sound. I give it a thumbs up for sure.

Easy on the ears

A simple country song.. Pretty and straight forward. Easy to listen to. The voice is pleasant and very understandable. I actually expected a French accent since the singer is from Paris I think. I suspect Francoise is French also. Nice tracks he recorded in the Netherlands. Hope it gets out there...

yes

I'm a girl is a strictly country piece in the highest sense of the word. everything sounds in country style and even the singer has a country voice as I said everything recalls the country genre. personally it is not my favorite genre but I can give you a musical judgment that is certainly positive because all that there must be in a country piece in your piece is therefore complimented and continues. good job

I'm a Girl

Hi again Francois. To be dangerously honest, I was surprised to see you jump in on this one. According to her own words, the there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to where this song is going.lol As usual, your skills are definitely recognizable when you play your part. ;) Back to the mechanics of the song, the intro seemed somehow unfinished and clumsy before the gal started on the verse, and therefore your intro seemed somewhat choked. I like how you changed the sound of the harmonica to match the characteristics of the person as the ages progressed. Some of the words that she chose were "clumsy and un-metered" if I can use that for an explanation. I did like all of the instruments where they were used. The tambourine was off and on when it was active; not always in time. The over-all sound of the song, however, was good. As always, blessings, Trev :)

Western blues

If you can get past the title there's some Texas in the rhythm tracks that will catch the ear. The banjo and harmonica are nice touches. The lyric comes off as odd for such a western sounding tune. Maybe change it to I"m a cowgirl? That would fix it I think and change where I'm going to where I ride. As it is, it's a personal tune with a limited appeal to the mass market. Take my advice and spice this one up a bit lyrically. Best regards and good luck!

...I'm a girl....

This is a young hearted song lyric with a melody that appeals to the heart of any age. Bluegrass strings with a celtic folk sound to the background. I love the mix and it is unique sound that will find a niche in the market in a stand alone genre. I would class it as Celtic Pop & Folk. If the track was translated to a more American English wording it would flow better. A Re-mix might be more popular with addition of Irish drum and Celtic Pipes. I love the Harmonica and wish there was more in the melody. I would love to hear this Remix. As it stands it is still a great song.

Nice, Easy Listening Country! Enjoy The Guitar, Banjo and Harmonica playing softly against each other and the very gentle Female Vocals with the full step increases throughout the song! Nice Hook "Where I'm Going, I Don't Know"! Loved your cover of "Rocky Top" with incredible Lightning Fast Guitar and Banjo Picking, not to mention the Great Harmonica!!! Keep Up the Great Work, Really enjoy your Music! Please check out my Album "Johnny O and Friends" on UTube and my 3 Tunes on N1M under Johan Oiestad! Thanks! Johnny O

Great little tune!

Hey there, I really enjoyed your song a lot. The only recommendation I would like to make is to omit unneeded words, which make the lyrics not want to flow smoothly off the singers tongue. When the lyrics sound rushed look for words you can eliminate so the fans don't have to listen so intently to comprehend the lyric. Otherwise, I think you have a good song and wish you the very best!

Hello from Jerzy...

Nice melody..but You need a better arrangement of the song and do much better mix of the recording...and the drums must bet better they are to plain .. I wish that You put a little more Harmonica...and when is done.. it will be a great song...as now is ok to perform but not for a Radio Play.this is just My opinion...I'm sure that many people will like it....Jerzy...

French Country Band meets Dutch Harmonica Player ... Wonders Never Cease!

I just heard a new song on the Number One Music website. It's called "I'm A Girl," and it was recorded by a French country band (!), featuring a Dutch harmonica player. This isn't bad; in fact, it sounds more authentic than what's being marketed as country these days. Mr. Spannenburg's harp work gives it a more bluesy sound as well. It's worth at least one listen!
