Ain't Goin Down
One of the things I enjoy about NumberOneMusic is the variety of music I would not hear, save for this format. It's also fun hearing artists from other countries performing genres from other areas of the world. This is a fine example of a singer & performer who's really solid in vocals, the music and production are excellent and the mixing of the song makes this strong. If you didn't know Garth Brooks did this originally 20 years ago, this song would lead you to think this is THE song!

2 Thingees.. This is Country Rock.. I like the way you did it. but as a songwriter I like doing my own thing. if you can do this Garth tune like this you would do a heck of job on your own Country Rock song.. I would like to hear something from your own library of music. As a songwriter I truly enjoy listening to artists original music. Thanks

Wowee Yeah!
Thanks for asking specific questions. That drew me to listen and I'm so glad I did. First the genres I would name are Southern Rock, Modern Blues and Rockabilly. I name Rockabilly even though it doesn't employ the signature back beat of Rockabilly the song has the feel, content and intensity that makes Rockabilly sexy and exciting. The number made me feel sexy, excited, vibrant, energised and alive. I love those drawn out vocal notes that occur twice and hold suspense. I also love the fact that it was a live recording. Nice one Francois! Rock on.

My thoughts.
This is spot on Country. You've covered this Garth Brooks song to a T. The band is really tight., obviously been in the studio before together. I would of liked to of had the vocals pulled up a little more in the mix during the course of the song. They were buried just a little bit. This guitar player is just rippin. You are a really good harmonica player as well. Overall good job BUT, I would of loved a different version, some originality goes a long way when your in the studio. This is the 2nd cover song I have reviewed for you. Do you have any original songs? Thanks for posting.

Dylan meets Southern Fried Rock
Ain't Going Down sounds like Black Oak Ark Arkansas attempting a Subteranean Homesick Blues style song. I wouldn't classify it as Country Rock, Bluegrass, or blues, but the amalgamation that makes up the term Southern Fried rock- namely Rock n Roll, Modern Country, Boogie, and blues.

Good Bluegrass
I mainly listen to Metal and Rock, however, sometimes I listen to Blues. The singer's voice sticks very well to this musical style, the music is catchy, with very good piano and harmonica passages. A track to listen with passion.

The real deal!
Color me impressed. I have to admit that I was really surprised by how authentic this sounded. The musicianship is excellent, especially the harp playing, and the singing doesn't have a trace of any accent that would detract from the "country music." Nice work!
