Hello everybody, Do I have an update for you! I and my small but incredibly dedicated team have been working very hard. We’re going to be on WFMZ channel 69 News, “Music Monday,” segment for a third time on 4/20/20. I am talking about my new duo, Yingling Porter On Tap. We’re still fairly new and we’re upping our game this year. It’s not going to be easy to outdo last year. However I have a feeling that good things may be about to happen. Last year was intense. I hadn’t had a break from touring for 7 years. I don’t know if you can relate to a professional musician schedule. One of my partners gave up having an album released by Elektra and 100,000 each because she learned what touring is about and as hard of a moment that this was it illustrates what I am talking about. I was ready to hit the road opening for an early Phish tour. I have no doubt that would have been challenging and a lot of fun! So I took a break just in time to do a couple late 2019 shows. Then proceeded to get very sick for an extended period of time. At least I had a very light schedule at this time. Three months later I am starting to feel more like myself. Thankful to be here writing to you! Some of the light schedule consisted of working on some recordings. And I now have three albums in various states of completion. From three different projects. One us my next solo album. It’s so close and also so far from being finished. I have been listening to it and I am loving the rough cuts. I may have to share one with you so stay tuned. Then there’s the busy duo YIngling Porter On Tap. Doug Yingling and Frank Porter. We have some rough cuts and demo quality recordings happening. We’re hoping to get our EP out soon. Doug has an original song on it and we’re opening the album and our live show with his song Just Too Hot. I think if we can keep moving forward we can get somewhere. Another reason to stay tuned. We perform some of my original solo material. You should come see us if we get close to your town! And the third project is one that goes back to the Elektra days. Ten or eleven of the songs Elektra loved are going to be recorded to make an album. Not sure when exactly. Possibly this year. Add to this gigging and the rest of my life’s responsibilities, which includes two part time jobs and home owner chores and you can imagine why I needed a rest and how incredibly busy I am. The strange thing is I am loving it. So there will be new songs arriving any day now! We would love to bring our live show to you. If you know a place that could use us as as opening act or something we need exposure in new markets and you never know. That local band joint in your town could turn into a Yingling Porter event.
