Hello everybody!

Frank Porter here with an update on what has been going on with my music career. First I want to wish you a Happy New Year! Hope you all enjoyed a Merry Christmas or Happy Holiday however you celebrate!


I just released an album of demo recordings that I stumbled across recently from a band I was part of many years ago. We were called Moonluna. It was more like a duo really. Except many of the recordings sounded like a band. I played the bass guitar and drum parts in addition to most of the rhythm and all of the lead guitar parts. It’s so freshly released it is not yet available on the places you would look for it. It is titled, “Frank Porter and June Moon present, Moonluna Volume link’s kind of an experiment in a way. I have June’s blessing on this. I hope it does well and I hope some big artist wants to record one or more of the songs we worked so hard at.


And there’s more news. One of the founders of Pandora recently viewed a video my instrumental song, Nitro. He wrote to me telling me that I am one of the best musicians in the world right now. Not sure I believe him, but that’s something that doesn’t happen every day. I am now working with him and his staff. He has a live streaming concert platform and I am the new kid on the block. I hope this endeavor works out well. Apparently there is good money to be made on his platform. His top artists make between $500 and $1000 per hour. I don’t need to make that much but I certainly am going to be putting some serious effort into this for obvious reasons as well as it’s global so just the exposure is worth my time and effort!


You probably thought that I was finished with this update. There’s one more thing. In addition to all this, my eighth solo album, Dark Horse, is coming along nicely and should be out in the spring. This will be the first solo album to sound like a full band. I am playing almost all the instruments you will hear with the exception of harmonica on one track and some rhythm guitar on a few of the tracks. One of which will be The Summer You Were Mine.

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am continuing to work on my music career harder than ever. In addition to my new acoustic solo album I am now considering releasing an instrumental album as well as a project that dates back to 1990 believe it or not.

The 1990 project has been something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. And the way it came about just a few weeks ago was through an Internet live performance where I was broadcasting from my basement office. I was on an award-winning radio show in the Lehigh valley of Pennsylvania. Rocking The Valley. There were five or six other performers. And we did like an open mic thing one song at a time we went around in a circle. In that circle was a 15-year-old female vocalist who I think kicks ass! My manager got a hold of her and she’s going to help me bring the music from 1990 back to life.

The reason this is significant is because the act I was in back then could’ve gotten sign to Electra records except for the fact that my then partner decided she did not want to tour. Ouch! There’s a scar where that one was. I had worked my ass off to get to that place. The real test of an artist is if they keep going and stay as passionate as they were even after something like this happens. You could say I’ve passed the test of time! I’m ready to go out there and kick butt and become the George foreman of the music world!

If you read this soon enough, tomorrow July 6, 2020 my duo Yingling Porter On Tap will be performing live on the Internet. If you go to Facebook look for Melanie Glenn. She is our manager. Her page will have information. And quite likely there will be a link to my Facebook page which is Frank Porter Rocks, all one word. We start at 5 PM or 5:30 PM somewhere around that time. And our performance is also an audition for the Philadelphia Folk Festival. No pressure ha ha! Hope to see you there. Hello everybody,

Do I have an update for you! I and my small but incredibly dedicated team have been working very hard. We’re going to be on WFMZ channel 69 News, “Music Monday,” segment for a third time on 4/20/20. I am talking about my new duo, Yingling Porter On Tap. We’re still fairly new and we’re upping our game this year. It’s not going to be easy to outdo last year. However I have a feeling that good things may be about to happen.

Last year was intense. I hadn’t had a break from touring for 7 years. I don’t know if you can relate to a professional musician schedule. One of my partners gave up having an album released by Elektra and 100,000 each because she learned what touring is about and as hard of a moment that this was it illustrates what I am talking about. I was ready to hit the road opening for an early Phish tour. I have no doubt that would have been challenging and a lot of fun!

So I took a break just in time to do a couple late 2019 shows. Then proceeded to get very sick for an extended period of time. At least I had a very light schedule at this time. Three months later I am starting to feel more like myself. Thankful to be here writing to you!

Some of the light schedule consisted of working on some recordings. And I now have three albums in various states of completion. From three different projects. One us my next solo album. It’s so close and also so far from being finished. I have been listening to it and I am loving the rough cuts. I may have to share one with you so stay tuned.

Then there’s the busy duo YIngling Porter On Tap. Doug Yingling and Frank Porter. We have some rough cuts and demo quality recordings happening. We’re hoping to get our EP out soon. Doug has an original song on it and we’re opening the album and our live show with his song Just Too Hot. I think if we can keep moving forward we can get somewhere. Another reason to stay tuned. We perform some of my original solo material. You should come see us if we get close to your town!

And the third project is one that goes back to the Elektra days. Ten or eleven of the songs Elektra loved are going to be recorded to make an album. Not sure when exactly. Possibly this year. Add to this gigging and the rest of my life’s responsibilities, which includes two part time jobs and home owner chores and you can imagine why I needed a rest and how incredibly busy I am.

The strange thing is I am loving it. So there will be new songs arriving any day now! We would love to bring our live show to you. If you know a place that could use us as as opening act or something we need exposure in new markets and you never know. That local band joint in your town could turn into a Yingling Porter event. Please do reach out with any ideas you have.

Lots of activity! I have a new Duo partner named Doug Yingling. Whenever he joins me, which is often, we go by Yingling- Porter On Tap. In the 6 months we’ve been working together we have done a lot. NYC, some festivals including Porch Fest in Easton PA as well as Lititz Chocolate Walk.

I continued to play solo shows and also am developing an act with a female artist named Bonnie Adele. We call ourselves Frankly My Dear. And most recently I have been recruited to work on a song for a DVD to be sold to raise money for a charity. I was recruited by a Grammy award winning songwriter. The best part is I didn’t see this coming!

Add next years 40 years of performing events and this all adds up to I am a busy man. And I am loving it! Oh and I am working on a new studio album and a couple DVD projects of my own.

I have been busy. This album represents a lot of work done by a core group of people. The lions share was done on my own. As it should be when you're a solo acoustic guitar based artist. I do have a modest home studio where I was able to do almost all of the guitar work. I did some of the vocal work in my studio as well. D. Freeman's Sonlight Productions took it much further than I could, We did everything I could or did not do in my studio at Sonlight Productions. A great comfortable place.

If you are just learning about me which is likely, I have been around for a long time now. I had a very near signing with Elektra Records many years ago where my partner did not want to tour. I did still have the chance to work with their team. They taught some things about putting on a great live show. I have been paying my dues and continue to. Enough good things have been happening late in my career that I am now busier than ever and my fanbase keeps growing like I added fertilizer lately. Hoping to keep that going right up to my 40 years of performing live celebration concert or concerts as it looks to be turning in to.

I just want to say Thank You for listening and for those of that write I appreciate and enjoy our correspondence. So far I am able to keep up with the fan mail but it's growing busier. I encourage you to write. I love to hear comments and stories.

Frank Porter brings his original music acoustic act to this amazing venue in Bethlehem, PA. Steel Stacks is on the site of the old Bethlehem Steel company. The view behind Frank as he performs will be of some of the furnaces used by Bethlehem Steel. They are nicely lit and that alone is a good enough reason to come out to this show.

The night will consist of many of Franks original songs along with some cover songs he likes to perform live. There's a Led Zeppelin instrumental medley he is partial to and a little bird told me he's going to be doing this medley with a guest for the first time. You'll need to get yourself here to witness this.

There will be various guests throughout the evening. Frank has been working hard on the entire presentation and just did a full three hour run through on 1/15/2017 to work out the bugs. This show is going to be video taped and may become part of a DVD Frank is working on for a 2017 release.

You have many good reasons to come out now. Support live music and songwriters by attending this free concert!
