PRIMUM MOBILE for 2 Flutes and 13 Strings

I have downloaded a 2005 recording of Primum Mobile that was recorded by the Kiev Philharmonic conducted by Robert Ian Winston. This recording is an earlier version of the digital version that is on N1M. I wrote Primum Mobile in 1983. I was at a supermarket in New York City and ran into a conductor I knew. It came up in discussion that she would be interested in me writing a composition for a series she was planning. Program notes read, "In the thirteenth century, when Dante wrote "Paradiso", the third part of the "Divine Comedy", the earth was considered the center of the universe. Encircling the earth were nine heavens, the night being Primum Mobile. It was furthest away and had no starts, but it directed with its movement the daily revolutions of the other eight heavens beneath it. Looking toward the Primum Mobile, Dante had visions of a heaven presided by the seraphim." I hope you like this version of Primum Mobile. Yours, Frank Russo
