Free Fall Rock

We had a great gig in Hamilton as part of the Rocktober concert playing along such talented bands as the Ellerly Daines Trio, fantastic. You see a short clip of the song that gave our band its name: Freefall to Freedom. (expired link)

Every song has a story to tell, so this one was written after our house was destroyed by an earthquake and we decided cut all strings and move out of the earthquake zones. Leaving friends behind was not easy, so the song is about a mix of sadness, uncertainty and excitement that comes with a move and starting something new. On the road up north. Here the lyrics:

Free Fall Rock

We have our debut show in our new line up on 23 July in Hamilton, New Zealand. Those who can make it will hear experienced rockers performing original songs. This is also the first time of collaborating with established vocalist Tana Tapri who is lending her strong raspy voice to complement what Free Fall Rock is standing for: raw emotions, energy and a fun night out. Tell everyone, FREE event.

Free Fall Rock is going great with our 2 new members Tana and Rod. We are busy practicing new songs and a cold shed (we have winter in New Zealand) cannot hold us back. Tana brings her raspy rock voice and award winning Tapri songs and we are getting right into it adding 2 more songs every week. You can check out some of them here on NumberOneMusic, just search Tana Tapri.

We are really exited with this new line up and it seems N1M listeners love both, the old Free Fall songs and Tapri songs. For weeks the 6 songs we have together on N1M are taking out the first 6 places in the New Zealand rock charts!

As a band we are getting tight and the songs are going to be slick performances. We can't wait to take them to the first show in this new line up. Hopefully we can share soon some photos or video footage, as I know most of you are not in New Zealand to make it to a show.

We are absolute stoked to have found so many supporters in the short time since we are releasing our songs. Our latest release Doctor made it to number 1 in the New Zealand charts in its first week and stayed there since. Last time I looked it was on rank 46 in the global rock charts. Thank you for your encouraging comments and yes, the more songs will be coming, we are just getting into the swing of it. Our next song is called Mad Man and can be expected in about 2 weeks. The song is about power hungry and manipulative people who are misusing their power for their own benefit instead of the greater good. We don't need them in this world!

Doctor is about the death of my external hard drive with 10 years worth of family photos on it. Don't worry it had a semi happy ending with the help of the DOCTOR.
