Greetings !! Friday's Veil would like to ask for your prayers and good thoughts. The last couple of years have been constant "spiritual attacks" for each one of the band members and their families, BUT we all know that we are clearly doing what God wants us to do - as it has drawn attention from the evil one, who would seek to stop our efforts at sharing God's word through our music. Last year we walked together through several medical challenges, a horrible motor vehicle accident, various stresses and challenges at work, loss of our drummer to an elbow injury, etc.. This year it seems that the attacks have been focused on our keyboardist - Charles. In the past 2-months Charles has lost his mother-in-law, and most recently BOTH his father and his mother within 2-weeks of one another !! I can't even imagine the pain of losing three loved ones in such a short period of time, and thus our hearts are breaking for Charles. Even at his most vulnerable time the devil continued to toss more challenges at him. Charles had called to ask me if I could sing "I Can Only Imagine" (my favorite song to perform - will share that story with ya'll at a later date) at his mom's funeral the next morning. However, we were out of state at a dude ranch with my wife and family for my first vacation in over a year and to visit my son who had just started a new job - and there was no way we could make it back in time - and we could not recover the cost of the pre-paid trip even if we were able to somehow get back. I was crushed over not being able to do this for Charles. The devil did quite a job on me over the next several days of our vacation with thoughts of guilt and feelings that I had really let down my brother in Christ. However, Charles was very gracious when I returned to practice the next week - as he knew that I would never have said no unless it was totally impossible. We celebrate the fact that Charles parents were both strong believers and followers of Jesus Christ - and thus we know that we will be with them again some day as we gather to worship our Lord and Savior !!
